You all seen this yet? I've not played the games, but understand the idea behind it (I own the 1st, just never played it).
This was on facebook, and it is pretty cool.

You have to play the games. The mechanics are entertaining as hell, but the real reason is GLaDOS. Only problem is the games are tragically short.

Yea I should probably re-down load it from steam (got it for free one day a year or so back?) now that I have a comp that could play it.

Okay, watched the video. First, wow she's got some arms on her. That being said, not bad. But it looks more like an action adventure movie, whereas the game is decided puzzle game without combat whatsoever. Well, there's turrets, but you don't really fight them. You get creeped the **** out by them. 5:27 in was subtle and cute. Overall, it's missing the best thing from Portal games: GLaDOS. I can't emphasis enough how much she makes the game worth playing.

If this were to be made into a feature length film, and GLaDOS was in at least 75% of it, I'd see it on premiere night. But, fun short movie.

There hasn't been a good puzzle movie since Cube and I'm not sure how you'd make a puzzle movie out of Portal. I think it could have moments of genius with clever escapes and maneuvers, but overall, the mechanics of the portal gun really don't allow for such a drawn out puzzle movie. The main premise would really need to have a heavier focus on escape than the game did.

Also, will agree- you need to play Portal because of GLaDOS, Wheatley, and Cave Johnson.

You're doing yourself a serious disservice by not playing the games. Seriously, go play the right now. They're just that awesome.

The mechanics are amazingly entertaining, the puzzles are good (most of the time), GLaDOS is the best villain ever, Wheatley is hilarious, and Cave Johnson is quite possibly the funniest man to have (n)ever lived.
