Sure theres a thread somewhere in here but I can't for the life of me find it.

Anyways...Just order the C/E and excited about this game as I was much if not more the the launch of WoW, all those years ago. If anyone from the good old days of Pancake bunnies and whatever are other guilds were called is setting something up, love to join. As some of my funniest memories back when WoW was new was my adventuring with my Allakhazam forum buddies.

Yeah, I ordered the Collector's Edition myself. I am certainly not from these Pancake bunnies days you speak of, but I did try to start a Zam guild. For nostalgia purposes I named it There is no Fifth Star, but so far it's just me and a friend. I didn't really expect for it to go anywhere nor did I really want to be the guild leader, but I figured I could at least save the name pre-launch if anyone wants it in the future. You're welcome to join though!

Is this for The Old Republic? Because that thread is still on the front page. :P Ctrl+f, etc, etc.

Anyway, I fully intend to play it, but have not pre-ordered yet. I'm still debating if I want a physical copy, or if I would rather just bite the bullet and use Origin. I'm heavily leaning towards the physical copy, even though that means a loss of some pretty cool things I really want. But, seriously, f*ck Origin.

I probably will pre-order, though, just because I'm not willing to wait and see if the lightsaber color-changing crystal is available in game easily. Though, if purple is available from the get-go, I might not even care. :P

I actually got back from Thailand a few years ago. I've dropped into the forums here and there but, haven't had the time to start a new mmorpg. I tried Warhammer and DCU online but both were lacking "something". I'm hoping, from everything I've seen so far that TOR will have that "something".

She's DV8. Have you not been around that long?

Also, I miss Pancake Bunnies but don't plan on getting into TOR. I just finished with Rift and don't think I can do MMOs any more :(.

Im kinda looking forward to going back to Rift in a few months. I really liked the way that game played and it would be cool to see whatever new things they've added.

Thanks Iamadam the Malefic, just re-reading that old post can't believe that was 5 years ago, it doesn't seem that long at all. Where does the time go. I'm looking forward to new mis-adventures in TOR, hopefully Alla or as I see Zam now, (When did that change happen?) will add a TOR forum. I remember when WoW was new all the downtimes or the 2am reboots, and all us rushing onto the forums here to complain about them, then discussing Art, Literature and Politics (Oh wait that was the guys over in the Asylum) we just tried to break the forum by creating the largest thread ever.

I *was* really excited about TOR until I saw the actual gameplay.

Somehow it doesn't look quite like I'd expected it to... Bioware don't seem to have got the graphical style right, and it does look very, very similar to a ton of other games out there. Which, while not necessarily a bad thing, isn't what I expected considering the huge amount of time and money they're throwing at it.

The more I see, the less I want to play. But we'll see. I might cancel my preorder... just feels like a waste of money right now.

Poll in TOR forums

I know that EA is throwing some advertising dollars around here, but the pre-order fee has me a little P.O.'d. Answer the poll and send a message...

Yeah, gameplay seemed like unexceptional EQ/WoW type **** to me.

Answering an internet poll is certainly the way to take a stand.

I would say I am shocked but honestly after seeing them charge $150 for the collector's edition I can't say I am horribly surprised. It is definitely going on my "wait for solid review before purchase" list.

I was invited to the beta a while ago, but I don't feel like participating. I've largely lost interest in the game; it looks like a ******** WoW in the Star Wars universe.

No battlemech style controls unfortunately. You do get a flare gun though, no word if you can shoot your companion in the face with it. Will be a bit of a disappointment if not. Smiley: frown

I'm still excited for it. MMOs generally look way worse than they play, so I'm hopeful that it'll turn out to be incredibly fun.

I especially like the idea that I'll be able to do something of value without being willing to dedicate 3 hours a day, 3 days a week to endgame. I'm not at a place in life where that's realistic or even desirable...

I've heard that the gameplay is very uninspired. All of my friends cancelled their preorders, partly due to this and partly due to them just being way more excited for Diablo 3.

Well that's depressing. Here's hoping they get combat somewhere interesting. I really want this game to be good. :(

I'm going to Gamefest tomorrow and it'll be playable there.

I'm planning on having a look, and if I remember I'll update you as to what it's really like.

I *really* want to like this game but I'm not hearing much positive noise about it at the moment :(
