Playing it now. Definitely a vast improvement over the original, which is strange for a sequel.

I am thankful for the update each time you load the game. Its one thing that bugs me about RPG's if you stop playing for a bit and forget what you were doing, it can take a while to get back in. With 13 it will give a brief update as to the story so far. It is nice being able to get caught up on the goings on each time.

(that and the chrono trigger element is really beginning to **** with my head.)

I picked it up on Thursday and didn't get around to playing it until today.
Definitely like it. Only got a few hours in so far, but I agree with the others it's a big improvement on the first.

Reached the "Eclipse" time zone. Got my *** handed to me readily. I had to double back and level up my Crystarium a bit, and reorganize my paradigms. I remember this happening to me quite often with bosses in FFXIII too.

At least this game lets you pretty much completely reset and area and do it again.
