EDIT: So the contests that I originally mentioned in this thread have ended. However, since most of the discussion is on the game itself I'll just use this space to mention that Dragon Nest officially launches on Sept. 28 and we have a Q&A with the producer on all of the upcoming new content: http://www.zam.com/story.html?story=27795.

Also, we have a Dragon Nest Armory that is just like Wowhead or ZAM Rift. It's got searchable databases and a skill calculator.

Downloaded this and started playing today. It's pretty much exactly like Dungeon Fighter Online except 3D, not 2D side scrolling. It's actually really fun for a free mmo, well aside from having to spend money on the NX points to buy the best costumes but maybe I can win some for free.

I also think it's quite fun for a F2P title. I logged in last night and found myself playing for longer than I expected. I definitely plan on jumping in tonight.

I downloaded it today and found myself playing for a solid 3 hours before I had to force myself off.

For the NX points thing. I guess I had to register a new account on that armory site. Is there any way to link that account to my ZAM account? Or does that really matter?

Look's really cutesy. Not that I am opposed to an occasional dose of sugary kawaii.

What's the gameplay like?

There is currently no way to link your DNarmory.com and ZAM accounts. However, it doesn't matter as far as the Nexon Point giveaway is concerned.

If you'd like to see the gameplay in action, watch today's BFF Report: http://www.zam.com/bffreport.html?bffreport=75. Basically it's a button-masher action game. I don't know about anyone else, but the combat gave me a Fable vibe right off the bat. That's probably because of my Warrior's huge hammers, axes and swords mixed with the graphics.

It is definitely a button mashing game. It's an action rpg, not turn based or anything. You can perform combos to increase damage and such. They have a talent tree system to level up skills and abilities. Typical mmo sort of stuff.

The one thing I like about it is that archers have to actually aim at mobs rather than just click it and have it shot right at them. Makes it a bit more difficult and the range is a lot closer so I'm having to learn to strafe around while making sure to keep my aim right.

I've pretty much given up on hoping to get any NX points. I don't have enough time to compete with some of those people. Especially the ones who have maybe 50 screenshots out of 300 that aren't duplicates.

I think I'll try and start on the wiki instead.

We actually just kicked off another Nexon Point giveaway. We're giving away $700 worth of NX this time through a sweepstakes. Five winners will also receive limited edition poochum plush toys from Dragon Nest. Y'know, those little monsters that travel in packs.

The contest is international, so everyone's welcome to head over to the contest page and enter.

I am playing Dragon Nest and actually liking it a lot. It feels to me a lot like I imagine Zelda would feel like if it went MMORPG. I really dig their sense of humor and several of the quest dialogues have made me lol.

I am Bludwyng and Bludborne on the Elena server. Drop by and say hi! BTW, I started a ZAM guild there, just me for now. If you wanna join drop me a msg.

I have joined the Children of the Corn!

Was feeling an MMO itch and decided to give this one a try. So far it's just good simple hack and slash fun. Dunno how long it will seem fun but since it's free I might as well mess around a bit. Level 5 warrior so far. Tried the archer a bit too but the warrior has that smashy satisfying feeling.

Haven't tried the Sorc or Cleric yet. I'm on Elena as well. I'll try and catch ya on for the Zam guild if that's still going.

Hey Richybear! Yeah man I'm still around the Zam forums just don't get to the FFXI forums that much anymore. These days I'm mostly catching up on old games I missed on Steam and dabling in some strictly casual MMO stuff.

How's things? :)

Dragon Nest officially launches on Sept. 28, which will introduce a ton of new content: new level cap, new town, new skills, 10 new dungeons, 500+ new quests, 250+ new achievements, etc.

We got some more details on it all from the game's producer: http://www.zam.com/story.html?story=27795
