In case you all were unaware, today marks the beginning of Steam's summer sale. Today's most notable deals, to me, are Oblivion: GOTY for $6.80 (deluxe edition, with DLC, is $8.50), and The Witcher 2 at $33.50. Also, Borderlands GOTY for $7.50, if anyone who wanted it didn't already have it. Morrowind GOTY is going for $15, which seems strange to me. Lastly, if you want a flash from the past, the id Super Pack is $30 now (compared to ~$90 normally) and has a ton of their older games - Doom 1 through 3, Quake 1 through 3, Wolfenstein 3D, etc. More sales tomorrow!

As someone elsewhere pointed out, don't buy anything (except packs/catalogs if you want 'em) until the last day unless it's on a daily deal. 'Lest you think "Hey! Game ABC is 33% off!" and in two days it's a Daily Deal for 75% off. It'll still be 33% off on the last day if it never hits the DD list.

What Joph said. Though I sometimes have trouble telling whether something is a daily deal or not, because I don't think the games they put on the front page comprise all of the deals.

I'm hoping for KOTOR:2 to go on sale.

Anyone know when Steam is going up on the PS3? Google was surprisingly unhelpful, and I'm wondering if I'll be able to nab Borderlands on console.

Those games would be better off left in the past imo.

Steam Question: If I buy a game and install it on Computer A, can I also install it on Computer B? Does it require me to uninstall from A or just that only one computer is logged into Steam at a time or just not let me do it at all?

Multiple computer household and thought maybe I'd install a few on the Win XP box I let the older kid use.

Hmmm, that's a good question. One of the reasons Steam has been popular is that developers don't need to worry about DRM, since you need to be logged into steam to launch the games.

So you can definitely access those games from multiple computers.

However, you cannot be logged in from two computers at once. So your kid can certainly play games, but only one of you can at a time.

You can install it on as many computers as you like, but only one steam log-in at a time per account.

EDIT: Well it depends on the games DRM, but apart from that ^ what I said above

As said above, you can install it on as many as you like. You may be able to run it on multiple computers at once if it's an offline game just by starting it on one, disconnecting from Steam, and moving to the next. It doesn't work with every game though.

Today's sales are up. First on the list, the Half-Life Complete pack is $10, including the original HL and 2 add-ons, as well as HL2 and both episodes. Also, for some reason, Team Fortress Classic. Aside from that, we've got Magicka at $3.39, which I've heard is a fairly fun game. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is $5 right now, which I highly recommend to anyone who can run it. There's plenty more sales on there, but why bother listing them all here? There's some good stuff out today if you don't already own it.

Bioshock 1 & 2 are five bucks each. I might pick 'em up. Got the $2.50 Braid from yesterday's sale and already got my two-fiddy's worth of enjoyment out of it in just an hour or so.

I bought Bioshock 2 when it was $5 previously and haven't finished it yet. Somehow I just can't get into it as much as the first.

Meh, I picked up Braid with the Humble Bundle back at Christmas. I only paid a dollar and got four other games with it, including World of Goo, which I played way more than Braid.

I never saw why people enjoyed World of Goo. I played it and couldn't derive any fun from it. It was too simplistic.

Bioshock 1-2 (Already played 1 but lost my disk somewhere$10)
Plants vs Zombies (Had fun playing the wow quest version so why not$3.39)
Fable 3 (always meant to play it was my only non super cheap pick at $24)
Magicka (5 dolla whim)
Darksider (5 bucks ok!)

So much cheapness love it lmao.

I highly suggest Darksiders if you like: Zelda games, God of War, button smashing. And for 5 bucks, that is an awesome deal for a great game (imo).

I also highly recommend it if you enjoy playing a game that forces you to use backward controls if you don't have an official Xbox controller or an emulator for one. Took me 4 hours and several trips to the Steam forums to get it working right and to get it to stop crashing.

Being charity and all, I would have personally felt obligated to pay more than a buck.

I'm cheap. That, and when I see other people paying hundreds or even thousands, I don't feel the need to overspend.

That's fine; if they didn't want to let you pay a buck, it wouldn't be an option. I just don't factor that into whether or not Braid was worth $2.50 because I'd personally never only pay a buck under those circumstances.
