Although I bought two expansions, I had barely started the first one when I stopped playing. In the meantime, Lotro went F2P and I had mail saying I should download a new client. I did so but when I try to connect, I get the error message:

If I search the Lotro forum, the only advice I find for this is to open a list of ports. Those are all open. If the web cache is disabled, I can connect, but the LAN admin won't turn that off for me to play games.

Does anyone know a way around this problem?

sorry, but I've never heard of this before...
I suggest you send a mail to the official support, they'll be able to help you.
If you're in Europe, now might be a bad time, though, since Codemasters might not be responsible anymore while Turbine will only really be responsible starting from June 1st...
