I picked up white the other day. I've actually felt this version to be harder than most of the others. I know they do give you the first gyms weakness if you happened to venture into the dreamyard first, and actually the second one too if you didn't pick tepig there is a rock smash tm given by a lady near pinwheel forrest. I picked up Victini last night, that thing is probably going to help me blast through Castelia since that gym is bug/poison.

That's where I'm at so far, 2 gyms, about to beat the third.

i

beating that kind of team isnt the problem
the problem is when you run into 6 wabus vs 6 wabus....i mean come on now
thats why they got BANNED from official competition

Nah, they were banned because they are just too difficult to counter. A 6v6 fight would have taken forever, sure, but in such a way that you don't really have to care. Eventually each Wobb would have run out of moves, which means they would have started struggling to do damage. In that case, it would probably be whoever ended up going first for the fight that won. So all you'd need to do is compare speed stats to decide the winner. If they're equal, start the battle and see who goes first, decide victor accordingly.

The problem is that...

You can't run, they have huge health pools, they can counter all physical/special attacks for double damage (so you WILL use if you only have one or the other, and it would take really bad luck on their part for you to win). And even if you do ko them, they'll likely take you with them by using Destiny Bond. Oh yeah, and they resist all status effects.

I'll be up for battles sometime, but it's going to take me awhile as I haven't even beaten all the gyms let alone the E4 yet so I'm not going to bring over trained pokes and train new ones until I beat the game.

I hate people who use legendaries and run builds like, mewtwo, mew, palkia, dialga, and whoever else is strong.

Though I should /slap myself as I've been using Victini, that little bugger is pretty strong especially so early in the game.

yeah, i usualy run 3 teams myself

a team i play competitively(doesnt use anything illegal for them, and can even take out most legandary teams cuz its fully ev/iv trained)
a team i use against people who use legendaries(with fully ev/iv trained legendaries to teach them a lesson)
and a team i use against everyone else(not ev/iv trained at all, pretty much the only thing they have going for them is a moveset that works)
currently working on adding some more pokemon to this regimen since ive already beaten black/white and have a few new 100s, just nothing ev/iv trained yet as i havent found any correctly mannered pokemon for it with good ivs

My competitive Team has been for the longest time: Tyranitar, Salamence, Emporean, Venasaur(this guy is actualy from the original pokemon red i got, ive transfered him generation to generation, hes on the team as the mascot, hes also not ev/iv trained), Flygon, and Spiritomb

If i battle someone i only ask that they tell me what format they wanna play with ahead of time so that I dont give myself an unfair advantage, facerolling people isnt fun, gotta have a challenge in there and not a guarenteed win.

I've actually never made a competitive team before... Actually, I don't think I've BEATEN a game since I played Silver (generally got busy and then just didn't care anymore).

Maybe I'll try to do so this time around. The problem is that there's no place for Bulbasaur...

competitive teams arent fun to make unless you are serious, you have to put in close to 20 hours PER pokemon if not alot more(and thats AFTER you catch the one you want with the correct iv and mood and such) on the team to do so. which is why i generaly only do it with pokemon im serious about(while im at work so it keeps me busy)

The hardest part is breeding with the right egg moves and such, then hatching 50+ eggs to get the right nature/ability THEN something with decent IV's THEN you have to EV train it.

IV's go up to what, 31? If I can get something in the mid 20's of the stat I want then I usually settle. But I haven't EV/IV trained anything since I think R/S.

you dont have to hatch them in order to get good ones, you can catch perfectly good competitive ones in the wild
the exception to that comes into when you need egg moves which cant be learned by wild ones.
IVs do go to 31, and the biggest issue with egg pokemon is you have no way to actualy calculate them properly until you get to the 30s/40s

in the time it takes someone to hatch a good one, i can catch 100 times as many of that same pokemon, toss any with the wrong nature, and then calculate all their ivs looking for the correct ones out of whats left.

That's not true, you can simply go into a level 100 battle with someone, use the Serebii IV Calculator. That thing works wonders, especially when using it for the same pokemon over and over again. You pretty much just have to enter the first pokemons stats and calculate it and the next ones, well I hope you can subtract/add a couple numbers.

still seems like more of a hassle
especialy counting the time it takes to hatch each egg, and enter said battles and do the stats, get out of the battle, go into the next one and so on

my method just requires you quickly gathering a ton of the same pokemon, checking its nature, plugging in the calculator and being done, cut out all the extras on the side

Know what annoys the hell out of me? That Nintendo didn't give the DS the ability to use WPA passcodes. Seriously--wth? So I have to use a less secure encryption if I want to do anything online with my DS?

Not only do I agree, I couldn't even get it to work when I changed my router to WEP. >_<

I believe the DSi and the new 3DS will/works with WPA. But I do agree, especially since they discontinued support/manufacturing the usb device, and it barely works/barely has ever worked as it is.

As far as hatching eggs, I simply hatch 5 at a time while watching tv or something, I grab all the ones with the right nature and what not and go into a battle with a friend of mine, we tend to iv at the same time, if you're not busy it really doesn't take too much time nor does having your ds sitting beside you while a buddy does his work conflict with too much.
