yes it is an emulator

recently support was released for ps2 ethernet and usb

just have to rip your frontiers disk and patch your iso

it is great because if your machine is good enough you can beef up the resolution and add anti aliasing

i just use an xbox USB controller

FYI you may get banned if you cannot properly get your disk's online ID
also, it may be quite laggy unless you have a really good CPU.
i'm pretty sure pcsx2 doesn't support quad core CPUs.
sony may ban you for doing such a thing.
also, it will not help you to cheat.

also, you have to have a working PS2 to be safe. if you cannot get your disk's online ID, you will find it online. if 2 people use that ID (they are unique to each disk) they will know you are using a burned game and ban you.

Oh, I prolly shoulda mentioned that they also might ban your PS2 from online (or atleast from EQOA). Which really only means that the bios you're using will be banned. Since you're also prolly not using a bios from your PS2 (which is illegal if you aren't, pirating software) then that bios might end up banned, disallowing your EQOA access. However, if you are using your PS2's bios and not your game's ID then your real PS2 has a chance of getting banned.

I'm just throwing this info in. Not at all trying to imply that it WILL happen, only that it MAY. Honestly, I doubt it will, but that bascially how it worked for Socom I, II, III & III:CA.

However, C9 ("Code 9") and other methods of cheating on Socom will not work on EQOA because the server is where all the info is, and it doesn't trust the PS2 client enough to change any server side data based on it. Such as changing your char's name will only be cosmetic -- it will only change it on your screen. The server and other players will still see your original name.

P.S.
The game is pretty laggy on a 2.8 GHZ dual core AMD processor. Unplayably so as a tank (and possibly healer). And all cases where fast action will keep you alive. Not sure how much help a better graphics card will be though, as this lag was with an integrated video card.

Guys let's look at this from a different perspective.
The games dying, let's be honest here. MAYBE we can get it onto the pc some how and then free servers? That wouldn't help the population but i dunno. I'm always worried I'm going to log on some time and all the servers will be "down"...

I think it would be pretty awesome to get EQOA running on a laptop...but emulating a ps2 takes way to much resources for any class of laptop I could afford.

Also to the OP how do you have firefox but not adblock installed?

Not exactly an answer to my question. I understand wanting to play once the servers are offline. What I asked is why do they so badly want to play on the real servers on their PC? I think that's what I meant. I didn't reread this thread.

Ok, so luckily I do have the developing skill, and a friend of mine is a software engineering manage who said he can give me some direction and help in building the server. We need packets though. I'm going to start sniffing tonight. We have to figure out what kind of protocol the server uses in order to reverse engineer it. Going to be fun...hopefully possible...maybe not hard to tell yet. Secondly, we have to program the client to go to the IP address of the server that we create...which can't just be my computer lol, we would probably have to rent some server space or i'd have to build an actual server hardware setup, which I havent looked into costs yet. First things first though. Server protocol and packets. Thanks.

Ok after several failed uploads and many different file hosting sites I managed to store the files on one of the servers. The bad news though is because its larger than 1gig your gona need to pay to download it.

I did not realize this until it was done though and i tested the link. So im reuploading another folder that only contains eqoaf not the original eq. I will have the free one up that only contains eqoaf shortly.

has anyone tried this yet? is it safe? or just a way for someone to get your account information hacked? let me know if anyone has successfully and safely used this program.

Hi guys i recieved a few pms, If any one is haveing trouble opening the actual emulator you might need to download the installer, since I just sent the files to run the thing.

You can get the installer for the version I use to play it on from:

install 0.9.6 from that link and then copy my files from the bios and plugins into it or it wont work. Then just do the same thing and run the .iso of eqoaf.

Also you can try installing the newest version(I originally tryed this one but for me I couldn't get the online to work), then see if the one I sent you works since it might recognize you instllaed a version. Because I never had a installer for .9.6 just the files but I originally installed .9.8.

okay, I didn't notice the error I was getting in the ps2 output..

I tried renaming the file so there were no spaces as well, any idea why I might be getting this error?

I have the same version (0.9.6). Perhaps you could upload your file "GigaHeRz's DEV9 Driver 0.3.0.dll" so that I could download and try replacing it. If that is at all possible, I would greatly appreciate it. :)

wow I totally forgot about this thread lol. I just randomly checked the site today (I only made the account a few months ago just to post about eq on pc im not a regular on the site). First to adresss the 15+ pms lol...

I'll look into reuploading the files when I got some time. I remeber what a pain it was to do (took long). If I can't get around to that soon, I'll come up with a guide to what you need to do to get it.

2nd. I was just randomly taking pics of toons in fp on clw, I don't acutally play clw so any tunar you want to give me is usless,unless your from my server(but tunar on my server is usless to lol anything we need is always up so can just kill to get).

3rd. Any one can get it to work if you have a dvd burner

4th. Yes I use my ps3 controler to play on pc, that took a day for me to set up because vista 64 bit systems get screwed. I had to do a whole bunch of extra driver installs and sh*t.

now that the game is ending at the end of the month does any1 know if the emulator would still work. if so we really need access to this to keep playing.
