I have recently noticed quite a few people in the game AFK grinding. Anybody know where the best places are to AFK grind and how to select a MOB to attack without cycling off a MOB before it is dead? Do all the old ui commands like uiaction cycleTargetOutward still work? I am a lvl 80 MBH MP and have about 2 years worth of in-game grinding to fill force sensitive skill trees.

AFK grinding. Don't do it.

Well let me qualify that statement a bit. If you are grinding entertainer or surveying then I think it is ok because you have a macro running anyway unless you want to sit there hitting the keys to do the next flourish or tell it to begin to survey again. So it doesn't really matter if you are at the keyboard or not.

I think the way you get those types of experience is messed up anyway, they should make something which involves the player more and is more engaging and fun. I never used a macro until I started playing an entertainer and I had been playing for more than 6 months by that point.

Now AFK combat is just stupid. If you want to play the game, play the damn game. Don't set up some macro to kill stuff for you while you are sleeping. Combat is engaging, requires player input and should be fun. That is the point of the game after all.

Besides with the CU I don't know how easy it would be to set up anyway. Unless you're farming low level MOBs for crappy loot. But then since you are camping the spawn no one else can get in and maybe they need the experience. But macroing combat on high level MOBs is probably not a good idea.

I take it that you want to do AFK combat to help along your XP to jedi status. The thing is, to guarantee that you wouldn't die, you would have to camp a spawn way lower than your combat level. And as we know, the XP gained from these is not worth it at all. You could probably gain more XP fighting normally for ten minutes, than you could AFK grinding in 3 days.

Playing ethics aside, I just wouldn't waste my time with it.

Ok how does everyone feel about afk fighting at say a spawn location not for xp but foor looting rings for your guild etc, id say thats alright instead of sitting there attacking low lvls and looting them then rinse and repeat for 6 hours, very boring :)

no doubt about it, boring. i would surely not sit there for whatever amount of hours while i watched tv or did laundry. I would however do it when im at work or sleeping. Thats 16 hours im not at home, it may not be an incredible amount of exp but its exp that i wouldnt have to get normally.

if i knew where you could do it i would tell you

I don't wait until people ask for my opinion, if I have something to say I say it.
I don't agree with AFK combat and I'll tell anybody that will listen.

If you want to farm loot, go ahead, but don't expect people to like it.
