Other than the ego of being a general, is there any advantage to getting promotions in Reb or Imp for SWG?

--- Ranks (Ranks Are Not Affected By Race, Cost Same For All)
Benefits with having rank are four:
you can hold more faction points,
you pay less to delegate (See ratio in table),
freedom from ally inspections (overts never get searched, are allowed to move on, coverts will be immune to ally faction searchs, when officer rank)
you can use factional base defenses, such as turrets.

Ranks / Faction Cost / Faction Cap / Delegation Cost

Civilian (Cost:0) 1,000 (Can Not Delegate as a Civilian)
Imperial/Rebel (Cost:200) 1,000 (Delegate Costs 650 to send 100)
"has no rank yet"
Private (Cost:10) 1,000 (Delegate Costs 650 to send 100)
Lance Corporal (Cost:400) 8,000 (Delegate Costs 500 to send 100)
Corporal (Cost:800) 16,000 (Delegate Costs 400 to send 100)
Staff Corporal (Cost:1,200) 24,000 (Delegate Costs 400 to send 100)
"this rank is needed to use factional base turret terminals"
Sergeant (Cost:1,600) 32,000 (Delegate Costs 286 to send 100)
Staff Sergeant (Cost:2,000) 40,000 (Delegate Costs 250 to send 100)
Master Sergeant (Cost:2,500) 50,000 (Delegate Costs 230 to send 100)
Warrant Officer II (Cost:3,000) 60,000 (Delegate Costs 200 to send 100)
"this rank allows you to see ally base vulnerable timers, also immune to ally faction searchs, due to officer rank"
Warrant Officer I (Cost:3,500) 70,000 (Delegate Costs 180 to send 100)
Second Lieutenant (Cost:4,000) 80,000 (Delegate Costs 167 to send 100)
Lieutenant (Cost:5,000) 100,000 (Delegate Costs 154 to send 100)
Captain (Cost:5,000) 100,000 (Delegate Costs 143 to send 100)
Major (Cost:5,500) 110,000 (Delegate Costs 134 to send 100)
Lieutenant Colonel (Cost:5,500) 110,000 (Delegate Costs 125 to send 100)
Colonel (Cost:6,000) 120,000 (Delegate Costs 118 to send 100)

Delegate is when you give some of your faction points to another player. It costs faction points to transfer faction points. See Instigators post for the transfer costs.

People sell them to those who are too lazy or in a hurry to get FP and want to throw their money away. The costs will vary from server to server and from person to person.

I thought that only a smuggler could delegate FP but I'm not sure about that. Maybey anybody can do it. I don't know I've never done it even when I was Master Smuggler.

Yeah, what Zaphoyd said.

And yeah, anyone can delegate, you have to be Special Forces to Delegate, you target the person you wish to send faction too, then type one these two choices:

1:) /delegate

Now if you use /delegate, it'll pop up a box, and you click side to side it, to send faction.

or

2:) /delegate #

If you use the /delegate #.
You send specific faction to another player, such as /delegate 200, sends 200 faction to the other player.
