Hellu..im new to this game so i have a few questions.
1. How do i become a pilot. what do i need to do or what lvl do i need to be?
2. What should i begin with (from the start) if i want to start crafting starfighters?

well there should be three emials in your inbox....one from imps,rebs, and freelance.... telling you to go where to join there pilot squad
artisan i beleive is the sarting prof for all crafters... not sure tho.. im not one :) if u go to all skills and click on shipwright(name of the prof) it should say what prfs u need to do to become one

yes that would be artisan if you want to be a ship crafter
If you go shipwright you need artisan 4 0 0 0. I thought you needed the surveying line as well but I just checked the character builder and it says no. So... You will need a TON of resources to get anywhere in Shipwright. If you have all the resources needed you can go from nothing to Master Shipwright in a couple of hours but... the resource cost is tremendous.
I sterted grinding Shipwright when JTL first came out and I never did get to master. I spent 8-10 mil (don't remember exactly) on resources as well as gathering my own and still didn't get enough.
So start gathering resources now, check on the SW forums for the ones you need and stockpile. It will take you a while.

The best way is to go ATLEAST 4044 artisan.
4xxx gives you access to shipwrite (starship builder)
xx4x gives you access to 2 Venders (xx3x gives 1)
xxx4 lets you survey a larger area.
xxx1 gives 64mX64m
xxx4 gives 320mX320m
and even master artisan is a good bet, since it lets you craft a few extra trinkets. speeders, swoops, etc....
