Guess There's Nothing Left To Do But LeaveFollow

I've decided that I'm leaveing SWG. And no, it's not because of the CU or anything like that, the fact of the matter is that right now the game is unplayabe for me. For the last 2 weeks, ever since the fix after the last publish I have not been able to do anything on line that does not involve moving at a snails pace. This is not just in a populated area, as you will usually lag in cities. That's fine. This is in the middle of no where. I even changed planets to see if it was just where I was. I have 512 RAM and a cable connection, and I am running at a speed I can only imagine is equivilant to dial-up, if not worse. I cannot get my cursor to change from the arrow to the recticule, and I am unable to pull up a radial menu on anything.

I have adjusted graphics settings, deleted and reinstalled files and even deleted and reinstalled the game. I have submitted many bug reports on this, and there has been nothing done. I have contacted Live Support and the geniuses there asked me if my firewall was on. I told them no, it's not. And they, in their infinte wisdom told me I needed to turn it back on and it would take care of my problem. When asked how adding another program running in the background was going to get my toon to move faster, they told me that they couldn't do anything to help me.

Now, I can play games such as WoW, which is more resource intensive in some areas, and have no problem what-so-ever. this upsets me b/c I was really enjoying SWG, even with the CU. I was finally starting to feel a sense of accomplishment and had gotten in with a great guild.

Maybe down the line I will try again after a few more fixes have come through or something. But for now it's just frustrating watching my toon move frame by frame across the Yavin Labor Camp.

It's been fun, guys and girls. Keep up the good fight, and may the force be with you

You need one gig of ram to make the game playable, believe me i went from 384mb to 1 gig, huge difference, 56k dial up was no problem to play it, its the ram that causes the lag as the packets swg sends to your computer aren't that big.....though lag is caused from alot of things, maybe a server change is in order, or that ram upgrade you probably deserve
