i know how many people disagree with having sooo many jedi on galaxies and i too would prefer it if the amount of jedi were numbered. As i have not got the game yet, i cannot say too much coz i dont know enough about the game and what goes on, but arnt there any clans or groups of people who go about trying to cut down on the number of jedi? What would be the best profession for taking down a jedi? Dont you think there should be a group who does this?

People complain that their are too many jedi, jedi already gain visibility with group actions, and rightly so they're hunted....so bounty hunters can take missions on jedi to kill them, even 5 vs 1 jedi, with no help, so I really can't see the problem is.....theirs thousands of players playing this game, with the clear point in becoming a jedi, if people disagree with it, then they can do something about it.....try to kill them

That what i would do anyway. Can you wipe out a jedi completely, so they are unable to play as a jedi again? i think someone should try to rally up a group of people who are willing to rid the world of jedi. lol. Are they even all that powerful?

in PvP any more they are pretty much dead unless they have Mdefender(special jedi proff) that grats a total of over 800 in both defense area's then they can last for almost ever but other then that they are very easliy killed any more and no there is no way to make a jedi unplayble that used to happen way way back when jedi were first starting to get numerous but of course they wihned and got it removed eventually down to just the xp lose that it is now adays.

Oh right. Thats a shame. So now theres gonna be a whole heap of jedi runnin about and theres actually nothing anyone can do about it! Oh well, i can still go around killin as many as i can! lol. How many people can party at once. Coz a whole group should go out on a jedi killing spree.

I hope they never make it so your jedi char can die and not come back, you know how long it takes to become a jedi in the first place..... i play cause i want jedi, they do that and my money will go to another company... all you people who are so against jedis for some reason, become bh and hunt them, but that's not stopping anyone who wants jedi, so stop CRYING

all right first of all buddy u dont have the game so u dont really know how it is... im sure your thinking jedi are everywhere... no.... there is a good number of them... but regular professions still outnember them 20 to 1... And good luck hunting jedi... most of them run into a house... cuz lets think about... a good full template jedi can take on 3 bh and win... which it is how it should be....... Jengo vs. Mace Windu, yea... most bh brag about jedi theyve kiled... yea... how many full template have u killed??? yea... they go after the new jedi who dont have any skills yet and then go back after the same one over and over....and let face it the game does get boringing if u do not have a long term goal.... jedi.... u can mast pretty much master any prof in a week.... if you really want to make it fair... have the BH lose XP if he gets killed.... that should be the penalty of going after the Defenders of the Galaxy... sorry if i sound mean... but i getting close to jedi.... (and after double exp week all i wil have to do is wait for 1 phase change:) so i am taking the defensive... for most of my close friends made jedi the last double exp week and it is really tought to have fun with your game... that u pay for.... when u can loose 2 hours worth of grinding... in 15 mins... and then the same guy knows your weak and tells all his buddys... then u have the same 5 bh's coming after you every 20 mins.... called greifing... and yea go ahead Man up to a full template... youll get your **** kicked :)

lol i was reading Blahmidgets post about him running around wasting jedi when he gets the game, m8 i assure while jedi may seem weak they are far stronger than allot of ppl who Respec to BH and go after them think.

But good luck when you go after your first jedi, your gonna need it :)

To the original poster, please go to any server but Ahazi when you buy the game.

Lol. Thanks. Anyway, even though i don't actually have the game yet, it shouldn't stop me from stating the obvious. Its plain to think that many people are gonna become jedi in this game because they are cool. But, to make the whole game a lot more enjoyable, all im saying is that there sholud be a lot less jedi. This would make the game true to the films and it would make becoming a jedi more of an accomplishment that someone can be proud of. Also, is there no way of a jedi to keep his 'jedi profession' a secret? Is it obvious to know if someone is a jedi?

This has been a fun post, gave me some laughs... One thing tho, the template of a Jedi dont have anything to say if the guy pressing the keyboard have paniced and freaks out. Cause when 5 bh's suddenly appear you will panic for a second m8. But there are ways to avoid getting killed, i've been jedi since october and i still havent been killed..

As embarassed to admit it, I also have yet to puchase SWG. I am going, none the less, to atttempt a revival of the newby image, that midget boy-or whatever his loggin, has dragged through the preverbial space dust. I will start off by setting the record strait, I have yet to purchase the game as I am finding it difficult to locate in S.E. Asia where I am currently employed. As for the previous posts concerning the Jedi population, I cannot comment as I have no experience to base my comments upon. What I am going to atttempt, is to offer some advice to Jedi padawans out there. This adice may be naive but it also may be helpfull as it is from an individual who is on the ouside looking in. Here it goes;
As a character climbing to rank of padawan you must have acertained a deecent amount of money-sorry, credits along the way. Would it not be benficial to hire the services of an individual or two that is willing to stand in with you when those BH's come a flaming. He will gain Xp as you would through the quests but also would earn alittle extra on the side while making a strong ally along the way.

Just a thought...feel free to ahh..well sabre it down if I am mistaken.

Greener...hopping not to be one for long;)

As it stand now 5 Bottom feeders i mean master bounty hunters can attack 1 jedi padawan..the jedi cannot have any help defending the attack. So it's 1 low level jedi againest 5 level 80 master bounty hunters or should i say Scumbags of the galaxy.

If the padawan is smart, he will know the ways of avoiding getting killed...there are many ways to avoid bh's when they come for you

You see, if this were in the movies, then the jedi would have the force on their sides. However, having all these abilites and being 'one' with the force (or glowy, whatever you want to call it) means actually nothing. I think this is stupid and really untrue to the films. It should be different.

Interestingly enough, I ground out my Jedi post Holo grinding patch, a solid 3 month grind from hell where I capped MS/MTK 2 or 3 times daily to get all 24 boxes unlocked and then the trials. After reaching Padawan, I open up the alt, had so much fun leveling him up, haven't even logged the Jedi in. On a good note, BH can't kill you if you're not on -).

well i ahve to say this post has made me laugh, and not to many flames for once, thats nice to see.

I have to agree with many of the BH insulters, i have 2 jedi friends one is full template, the other has not long made jedi, guess which one has been attacked by 2+ MBH's on more than one occation this week alone.

Well can you guess???

But dont get me wrong there is some nice, well resepecatble BH's out there among the hoards of respec MBH's. I have seen BH's not death blow, drop the mission as the jedi was the same faction, and have inteligent conversations with their prey after the dust has settled. which i feel does add something to the game.

Unfortnatly as in all walks of life there are the lower ends of the gene pool and yes this is both sides of the JEDI MBH profs.

But as for there being 2 many jedi's who cares?? do they spoil your game that much? and with the recent changes you need the master defenders to stand a chance so we gonna need more of them. And i dont ever remember being on a mission and any one shouting i wish we had a MBH with us lol.

And as for balance well if i spend that long grinding a jedi i would expect to be a damn sight harder than any a fews weeks to grind greifer prof such as BH :-P

but if they want it to be fair make the BH grind like the jedi grind, let the lose xp when they lose a fight, then we can disscus balance,

as for jedi population control, thats a difficult one, and one soe cause making it a straight line quest / grind, something they should of never done if you ask me, but im at a loss even sugesst a better system, maybe you peeops have some ideas???

OK - my 2 cents as a MBH.

It's down to the individual. I don't mind there being lots of jedi. It means I stand a better chance of actually finding one that's online, rather than wasting my time going back and forth to the terminal.

Regarding hunting low level jedi - I don't do it. Besides the ethical reasons surrounding xp loss, you don't get that much money and you also get virtually no xp. The fight itself isn't a challenge so at the end of the day, what's the point? It's not worth the hassle so I don't do it.

I know there are a lot of unpleasant griefing BH out there. Equally so there are a lot of arrogant, foul mouthed Jedi.
Just last night I got a long-winded mouthful from a jedi while watching entertainers in the cantina. He wasn't my mission at the time and I'd never even met him before never mind hunting him. It started off with "what you looking at, BH scum?" (I was looking at the entertainer) and went on from there for quite some time. And no I haven't looked for him on the terminals to get revenge or made a note of his name and I didn't respond at all to any of his rants.

I think if they took xp loss out of the equation it would make things more amicable all round. Not to put too fine a point on it, but it's just a game after all....

I personally think that Vader should... um... you know, pay a visit to Jedi every now and then you know :)

But really, I think that would be very cool, as that is what Vader kinda does. He kills Jedi for the Emperor. In reality, I don't even think that Vader is in the Army or Navy or whatever, but he is just a hand of the Emperor.

So I think some of the Devs should actually get to play as some of the Emperor's force hunting people and THEY can go hunt the Jedi!

I also reckno that would be an idea, because no one can say that it ruins thew game. How could it? Apart from some of the current jedi losing their character. It would be a challenge for anyone wanting to become one. For example, any current jedi or soom-to-be jedi would have to either try and avoid these special characters, or fight and try to survive. How powerful do you think these special characters would need to be? For me, it would not ruin the game at all. It wouldnt stop me from becoming a jedi. It would only make me be more cautious as to where i go. I also do not think it would cause people to leave the game.

Allready know how to escape from Vader.. simply hang out on the vulcano on Lok, i bet he's developed a trauma against vulcano's so i'll be safe..lol
#23 Jun 28 2005 at 4:33 PM Rating: Decent
hahahah. yea, he probably has a phobia of volcanos now. lol. but seriously, i do think it would be a good idea. It would basically help everybody. Existing jedi might not like it very much, but at least it helps keep the population of jedi down, and also adds another reason to work for becoming a jedi. What other ideas could work?
