Hello, I was wondering if I could get some advice on my Paladin. I'm told by people I've grouped with that I'm pretty good. So here are my stats. I'd like to know if the stats are any good, and any advice from people would be greatly appreciated.
I think I've made him pretty good, he tanks really well, and as long as I have a decent healer I do really well. He doesn't deal a whole heck of alot of damage, but I manage to hold aggro quite well, I don't run out of mana as long as I am conservative with my strike ability's. I wear crafted armor (I make it myself) combine currently and soon Adamantite (just made level 7 armor crafter, woohoo!). Thanks in advance for any help.

Lvl 32, Dwarf Paladin

Base / Current (with armor, and weapon..no buffs)

Str: 140 / 140

Sta: 230 / 300

Agi: 80 / 93

Dex: 75 / 75

Wis: 65 / 65

Int: 50 / 50

Cha: 50 / 50

HP : 1640 / 2221

Pow: 2080 / 2128

AC: 50 / 1170

Resists: (current, all bases are 49)
Fire: 49
Ice: 49
Lightning: 59
Arcane: 49
Poison: 49
Disease: 69

My goal would to be able to MT, as I love tanking things, especially big mean things. I'm thinking about goin Crusader MC, for the big AC bonus, and the HP Max+ also the OFF mods will help hold aggro at higher levels. Right now I'm raising Str to 200, then I'll raise Agi. And I'll Dex to 125 with CM's. Also once I'm happy with my Str, and Agi I'm going to raise Wis (for the resists). I've gone with the taunting path quest (the otherone is kind of stupid).

Wow, I've just realized that this post is pretty long, hope you don't mind. And thank you again for any help.

Crusader is not as MT orienated as guardian since it does OF mods instead of DF mods. Crusader does add quite a bit to defense defense and all those OF mods making it a good grind tank, and better support tank on raids. Especially since you can get closer to the mob and stack heal the MT.

Overall your stats are decent, I would think about getting your agi much higher, Decide what MC you want, then work towards it while adding to agi/sta and you should do well.

Thanks. How much should I put into Wisdom (if any) I know that Agi is important to take hits, but I want to be able to take some magic too, and Wisdom is resistances, but how important is that?

I would suggest taking agility to atleast 150, before you finish working on strength. From my own experiences, I have learned that agility doesnt mean much at the lower levels. However once you start grinding at mobs that quad which you probably are just starting to do or are getting ready to do, the agility will make a huge difference. On my Shadowknight, I had agility on the back burner thinking I would get it later, besides I had my proc and thought would help make up the difference. I was wrong, between levels 33-39 my SK was gimp as hell, lol. Anyway everything else looks good, as for wisdom 100 base would be good, since that would open up the PoT CM's.

A 100 base wisdom sounds good, but wouldnt worry about putting into wis until after level 50. The mobs after level 50 seem to be the ones with the most resist base attacks. i.e. TFG's, Moots, gobbies, x-rag's, etc. Only one resist point for every 6 tp's you put into wis, so it isnt really efficient to put lots into wis. The crafted jewelry would probably be best. Get yourself a bank toon and start transferring the resist jewelry/gear to it for the later parts when you will need them. The Godborne cm gives 25 to each resist, but is pretty expensive. (I think its godborne)

I think the agility needs a boost as these 2 have said.

I dont know much about the mc's for tanks so I ain't even going there.

Just my opinions.

Wisdom is not that important, as mentioned at 100 it opens up PoT cms if you want them, but it is a waste to add to wis just for resists, the 7-1 rate makes resist jewelry much more efficient. The only other thing wis does is increase the damage on your undead abilities.

Int, dont add to it, it only helps if you use your undead procs, or procs from others, other then that useless.

Cha does mod your heals, but I would put it low on the list. Sta, agi, str first then dex if you want to be a crusader, then cha or wis depending on preference.

I just noticed your comment on path spells. For how the spells you are right the ac to other path had little value, but both have changed. Now both ac buffs stack with most other buffs they have more uses. The AC to other buff does make a pally with it a great support tank for raids, giving your ac to the main tank for a few seconds can help.

My advice is if your going crusader ignore Dex and do rehab to get the dex requirment thats what im doing on my pal.

Its one resist for every 7 wisdom.

For your stats I agree that you need to put into agi. It will help in the later levels much more. O and the Favored Disciple line of cms will give you +10 agi and +50 ac.

For wis, thats more of a warrior thing cause its a mod for their buffs too. Also, if you go guardian you get around 25 or so points to each resist. But if you wana add a little to wis I would have to agree with thig and say only get it to 100 so you could get the cms for to boost your wis and the pot cms.

Ok, that sounds good. Thanks for the advice. One other question.... Should I go with a were form? and if so which one?

I'm not sure if I want to or not, but if I did I was thinking about going with Lionwere as it adds (I think) Sta, Str, and Agi. What are the downsides of going with a were form? Obviously the upsides are the big stat boosts, but what's bad about bein a were creature, other than the occasional NPC attacking you?
#10 Jun 23 2005 at 2:45 PM Rating: Decent
Id say lion its the best were for defensive tanks
gator or wolf is good for soloing/ofensive built tanks.
Lions only sta and agi.

Well the stats from lion form only give sta and agi but, the tank lv40 ability is a grp str/sta buff. Personally I would suggest Wolf or Gator. Gator because of the extra AC which seems to be one things you are looking for, from reading your first post. The one I would suggest would be wolf. Only reason I suggest it is to help you take advantage of that +50str Max you get from Crusader, plus you get +50agi from the MC as well. Stamina isnt really a problem for any tank to max and as far as Agility goes I'm one of those that says 400 is plenty, although others will disagree.
#13 Jun 23 2005 at 2:57 PM Rating: Excellent
Lion is agi/sta with a str/sta buff.
Gator is ac/str and has a str/sta buff.
Bear is str/sta with a str sta buff.
Rat is dex/agi with a str/ac buff. The final form debuffs str instead of int so it is a more penaltizing choice.
Wolf is str/sta with a str/sta buff.

Any form can work, it just depends on how you want to adjust your gear to maximize your stats. The forms dont have a great affect on game play, there are some coachs that will mark you preventing you from using the coach, and the hunters that will hunt you down. But so far there are no mobs that have specific damage to kill weres.

So there are no serious downsides to becoming a were-creature? That seems kind of odd. What about were-hunter is that any good? Also does anyone know of any future plans on making downsides for the were-creatures? Again it just seems like some really good stuff at a very low cost... Just seems odd to me, but I'll probably wait to become a were-creature.
#15 Jun 23 2005 at 4:04 PM Rating: Decent
Were hunters get a high dmg atack or nuke depending on class. they cant get were forms tho.

Well keep in mind its not always easy to get infected by a were. While some can go out and get infected in 1 or 2 kills, I have yet to get one. I started on my Shadowknight at lv30, he is now 47 and no infection. He maxed the faction around lv35 at 1700 but, still no luck. My mage is lv51 and he still doesnt have rat infection and he has been trying since lv43 or 44.
#17 Jun 23 2005 at 4:35 PM Rating: Excellent
Werehunter is much easier to get, but all of it's benefits are for it's MC's. They get a bunch of small stat increases and one good damage ability. The worst part about werehunter is the antistat. As a pally you would need ?150-200? int and to make the attack worth while even more int. If you want to look more up about were's and hunters click the were info link in my sig to get to hodstock, this will let you read up on the quests and what each does.
#18 Jun 23 2005 at 6:01 PM Rating: Decent
I just want to make sure I understand this right... When you do the were quest you get an ability? That ability transforms you into the were. And with that you get stats, then you do another quest after that to get another abilty which raises different stats?
Or is the ability bought with CM's. I know there are were things you can buy, but are the advanced forms bought that way or do you do a quest for them? and the ability is that a quest reward or is it a thing to be bought using CM's?

And the were hunters get ONLY CM's to be bought and no stat changes? And I'm not sure I understand the anti stat? I have to have and Int of 100 to get were hunter? or just to use a certain ability? or just to get some CM's??

Wow, that's alot of questions...
#19 Jun 23 2005 at 6:10 PM Rating: Excellent
At 30 or 35 you can start the were qst. When you finish this qst you get to turn in tails for faction, and to try and get infected. When you are infected you get the first were form, the next 2 are available as you lvl up at 40 and 50 I beleive.

At 40 you can do the were ability qst, which gives you a buff or another ability.

Once you get your first were form several other cms open up, such as bite df and of mods, and hot, pot buffs that come with a food/drink like buff.

What exactly do you mean by "Rehab"?
#22 Jun 23 2005 at 6:45 PM Rating: Decent
At 35 you can go to guy in MTG and pay him to reset yoru cms so you can rebuy all cms you spent. At 55 you can do same thing but it resets all you training points as well.

your stats are pretty good and Crusader is a pretty good MTing MC beings u get a heal ds w/ a 100% cha mod or something like that. you might want to either buy resist cms or raise ur wisdom up as well. but other than that ur stats are looking good as long as u stay in str, sta, agi, and cha if u want to make full use of ur heal ds.

be nice to..

I understand that there are paly guides out there that could
answer my question but by asking you I get several advantages, such as: More in depth- Above the entire Wisdom resists deal..
Not as bias towards one build type- since there are multiple people. Its very late and going and checking out 10 guides to get a grasp of everthing REALLY isnt appealing to me.
