Just got an email saying they are going up to 14.99, title says eqoa but graphic in the email looks more like eqpc. A 5 dollar a month increase? ***** that.. Anyone want my account im not paying that

That is a big jump, and a bad one for the community, but atleast it doesnt affect me. I did not see any sign of a rate increase though, the OOS game cards are still $10, but that could change when in stock.

"Due to the increased costs of running the EverQuest game service, we will be increasing our subscription rates in June."

This is mostly BS, the hardware status hasn't changed in three years, which should have been paid for by now! The number of personal required to maintain the game system has decreased, which equates to savings from the original. There cost of electricity has not risen that much, prolly pennies on the dollar! So, what is left? The number of users using the system? To be honest, the number of users may have went down in the last few months, but that means the number of users NOW are about the same as it was after the first 3 months started! In other words, the number of users are about the same as at then beginning.

What has changed from the beginning to now!?!? :) I think I know... SOE's BS forum service, we are all paying for that crappy board of thiers. Yes, we are paying so peeps can go to SOE's forum and butt-kiss Forum moderators/gm/dev, or so they can whine about this or that, so they can be grammer *****, flame, beg for this to nerfed, etc... We got to pay for all of that, and what do we get in return for SOE's forum, sure as hell aint good information about EQoA!!! Go there! Where are the walkthrus for quest help! Where are the info on good XP spots? Where is the data on MC, Crafting, ANYTHING!?!? WHERE? I tell ye where, on ALLA, HODSTOCK, and other sites!

I'm sure there must be some other hidden factors, beside outright greed, I just can't see it.

Well, there ye go... we are paying more... for SOE's CRAPPY forum service!

My dears, I am fairly sure this notice is for the PC version. Nowhere does it say EQoA, and it directs you to the site for EQPC...

Don't panic!

Greetings Everyone,

Due to the increased costs of running the EverQuest Online Adventures game service, we will be increasing our subscription rates. Effective July 25, 2005, the new monthly subscription rate will be $12.99/month. While this announcement may be unpleasant, the cost of operating a top tier MMO has increased significantly over the past few years and this change will help us achieve our goal of providing our players with an enjoyable experience in the world of EverQuest Online Adventures. We will continue to offer discounts from the new rate plan on multi-month subscriptions. The new price for a 3-month subscription will be $34.99, a 6-month subscription will now be $59.99 and a 12-month subscription will now be $89.99. You don’t have to do a thing; your account will automatically be migrated to the new billing structure under your current subscription plan when your current subscription plan expires. Subscription rates are subject to tax and value-added taxes, as applicable. These price increases will not affect the SOE Station Access™ subscription rate.

For more detailed information on the new subscription rates please go to review our Accounts and Billing page.

12.99 per month...

Not too bad, but still there is no justification for this increase.

Atleast the full year plan stayed the same, not sure of the 3 month plan. It still doesnt affect me, my price stayed the same.

If you can get donuil to show back up, he could probably hook people up with the $2 cards he was getting.

Wonder how many customers there going to loose. hopefully enough wont leave that they decide to shut it down.

Yes this is complete BS they should be lowering rates not raising them.
#19 Jun 21 2005 at 3:43 PM Rating: Excellent
Lowering rates wouldnt of helped, it was cheaper already, and still is cheaper then all of the main competition, so a low price is not a factor. Raising the price will hurt the community there are some that cant afford it, but with it still being the cheapest main stream MMO, it wont be as bad as I orginally thought.

Igot an amended email ... it does apply to EQOA-
Going up $3 .. btw dont forget other greener pastures out there, perhaps for $2 more one would get more. Which leads me to this, usually - when most businesses increase the price of a service, they offer more bang for the buck. (ex: our health insurance went up $1 and now cross other Rx plans and other doctor plans) … so if we pay more do we get more?
#21 Jun 22 2005 at 9:45 AM Rating: Decent
Sorta looks like they trying to get a reason to shut down the servers as it wouldn't look as bad as just shutting them down now.
#22 Jun 22 2005 at 9:53 AM Rating: Decent
why do people think that everyone is going to quit because of 3 more dollars a month!?!?!?!? (still less than every other MMO out)

Maybe cus not many people play thats why it moved up a little. If everyone in the united states played ever quest then the price might be $1.00 or lower,if only a few people play like 25-45 then the price might be $800.00 or more... I dont know just my point of view.

Heres what you do Kiddies and youngsters without credit cards. Take a month off from the game, get a summer job, give your parents $90. and have them pay for the year. not only will you avoid the increase you will actually save money as this is roughly $7.50 a month if you pay a year in advance. Which is what thrifty, frugal (cheap) people like me do.
#26 Jun 22 2005 at 3:57 PM Rating: Excellent
Or you can get the station pass and play several games so you dont get burnt out on one.
