It seems like encs still don't get enough love from the gm's/dev's....but it seems like people have some good points about them.

I have a few questions. Encs are good 1-12, but then the pet's start to suck and everything. I never got my enchanter past 22 and never really experienced the rest of the golem line of pets. Are they any good, or is better to charm?

I also was reading the "most underrated class" topic and a poster mentioned that his enchanter is doing pretty decent damage (for an enchanter) which seemed to border on what my nec did. DO encs do around the same damage as necs nuke-wise?

Overall: Would an enchanter be a good follow up to a necro? That is what i'm trying to figure out

There is a reason there called enchanters and not summoners.
An enc main power comes from the mobs they can charm. They only give you the pets to fill in when you cant charm a pet

Will an enc be a good follow up to a necro, it could be, it depends on what you like. Damage wise you are taking a huge drop, utility wise a big leap. If you liked your necro more for aiding group members then you may like a enc, if it was the great pet then you may not like enc. Enc have a lot more buffing for groups and a lower focus on damage. It takes some work to keep the parties power up.

Charm/golem depends on the situation. Early on yes golems are the better pet later with the better charm duration charms get more useful. But if you are a camp that has no good l blues around and have to go get a mob to charm then it would be better to use the golem.

Regular spell wise enc do about the same damage as a necro. But they do more damage with undead spells and DoTs.

I am! But lately, there's the same 2 hrs waiting for one of four tanks to invite me to a group and xp usually flys by fast. I went from 35-39 in about a week and a half (which is relativly good for me).

Well I really like only certain bits and pieces to my necro. I love helping out my group, that's why i went power path. The pet's fine, but I would imagine an enc would help do the more damage in the long run than a necro who is doing more damage.

Thanks a lot dirges.
