In a group, my toolbar is usually set up this way:

(1)
Bite
Melodic Blades
Harmonic Blades
Rythmic Blades
Power Jig

(2)
Power Twist
My best store bought PoT buff, forgot name
My best HoT buff, forgot name
Selo's Accelerando
Anthem of Deeds or Dirge of Fastness

I keep up the regular PoT buff, and switch between Jig or Twist whenever they come up. I also use the sequence: Bite, Melodic, Harmonic whenever all three of them are up. If I need the mob to lose more HP I throw Rythmic at it, but I usually keep that one on reserve. When I do this my power usually stays about the same, sometimes I have to wait a tad longer than usual before I use my attacks so my power evens out.

Now when I use my anthem or dirge, my power starts gradually decreasing when I try to keep one up. I've tried using both with just my store bought PoT buff, and my power more than evens out before I need to recast. So I figured that it would work in a group, but it doesn't.

So how do the experts organize their toolbar, and buff in a group?

Not having a Bard, I can't give you your class specific. With my Paladin I run with attacks/taunts in 1, and buffs/heals in 2. That's while grouping of course. When soloing it's attacks/heals in 1, buffs/lh in 2. Your way sounds about right though.

I had the same prolem on my old bard for a while. I was great at keeping mana full for myself soloing, but when I got in a group and used the same abilities, but added my path after a bit I'd notice that I was down a bubble, then down two.

The main reason, I found after, was because when you use your power path abilities, you actually spend as much to cast them as you regain from them, and since they override your regular mana buff, as long as it's up you're basically not getting any PoT like the rest of the group, just getting yours back.

Three things you can try that might help are working your power pool stats and cming your power pool, cming a better natural PoT instead of depending on your abilities, or simply casting your power path abilities less, then asking your group if the power is ok. If you can cast it half as often and still keep everyone full, that's more pow regen time for you.

ok the supreme bard god has come(i wish)

my ability bar is as such

1st
Bite
Light Fingers
Resonant Blades
Symphonic Blades
Harmonic Blades

2nd
Power Jig
Power Groove
Harmony
Sabretooth Lion/HoT spell/Dirge of Succor
Agility of Kejhran/Anthemn of Conquest

as you can see i like the keep my stuff organized. Now for your question of going oom, my reccomendation is to get a shjt load of sta and agil(485 sta 510 agil atm grind self buffed) This in turn will boost your PoT. Then when u cast your spell, you will still get a tick back from your natural PoT( my natural is around 200 or so) so everytime you cast your spell, you get 200 PoT a tick. I NEVER run oom on a grind. There is some good gear out there 55+ to achieve all the sta/agil and keep good str/dex.

I reccomend:
-Firescale(very cheap and has good FR and assorted stats)
-Skystrider(more expensive but better hp all pieces give -40 to some resist so watch out)
-Skald's Mail-Level 50 tunic 57 dex if you can afford to max your stats without a tunic then get this
-Bard MC gear- decent, not too good, gloves are awesome, but i got tunic and greaves which i dont use anymore but if u wanna use em sop when ur 60 go ahead

Weapons
-Twilight
-Epic Rapiers
-Club of Curdling Souls
-Wpns that drop off twins
-Rhino axe

currently with self buffs on i can get 510 agil,485 sta,400ish dex,380 str. I quad new goblins 600 a quad and steal aggro easy

Now to your question about buffs, follow my plan and you will never have to worry about power again!!!

What I do is have 3 attacks I cycle and my 2 highest dances on the first bar. On the second I have my anthum, heal, selos, and invis, with the 5th being situational, since I still havent gotten a were. I use my dirge if we dont have a good tank, or store bought spell if the tank ghas long pulls. I keep both selos and invis in case things go bad and we need to bail, will change if I ever get to 54. I always keep my heal available incase the healer dc's, and my anthum is always up since it is the best offensive buff in game.

For pot, our dances give back what they take, so the only added pot we get is from our natural pot and gear. The pot spell does help a little, but gets over powered by the dances so has little overall affect on the grind, but it does keep the dances perfectly balanced for timing. As stated before your best bet is to get your natural pot up, which means having high sta/agi to increase your power pool and pot. With decent agi/sta I am able to keep anthum up, use my dances, and my 3 specials when they are up with my pot able to stay caught up, or only getting slightly behind to were I skip one attack here or there
and get caught back up.

Ok here are my top four bases:

Str 130
Sta 135
Agi 140
Dex 133

Right now I have Agi maxed self buffed, and Sta coming in a close second.

I dont know, I have little end probs, you may just need to slow your attack chain when you are casting anthum. Try only using a couple of attacks per mob, and work it so you can fine tune your chain.

Haha.

Well, first of all, depending on whether you have the half recast CMs for your bigger blade specials or not, I suggest putting up Artful, Graceful, and Nimble Strike.

What many people don't realize is that these actually do more damage over time for less power (If you do not have the half recast.)

On my toolbar I keep.

Nimble.
Artful.
Graceful.
Bite.
Harmony.

Resonant Blades.
Symphonic Blades.
Harmonic Blades or Anthem depending on whether I have a shaman or not.
Power Groove.
Power Twist.

Now see, I don't have the half recast CMs, and the majority of my damage comes from my quads.

If I am grouped with a shaman, I can constantly hit every special as they come up, but if I am not and have to keep anthem up, I may have to lay off the symphonic or resonant blades for a minute or two I usually do all first four specials from the first bar, then one big special, then when the first four are up, do them and one big special, etc.

And for the record, my sta is usually around 460, and agility probably not over 300 during grinds, and I only go oom on children of Xrag, meanwhile I could equip more, or maybe even keep my sta / agi gator buff up, bleh, no need to.

And I see Singingtard added in gear / stats, so I guess you may want some advice on that too? I dunno.

As for gear, it is hard to recommend gear, because each character needs different pieces depending on their build, but if it helps, I use the following:

Fungus covered sash (Or something like that) - Belt - Gives some str, decent amount of dex, aswell as HP max and maybe some other stuff.

Etheric Greaves / boots - Some dex I think, aswell as nice HP max.

Ssslithar gloves or Gloves of Melody - Depends on gear, both give nice HP max, but melody gives sta / agi, where as Ssslithar give agi / dex I think. Both give AR also.

Firesong Chestguard - Just wear it because I am maxed on str / sta / dex, and it has decent HP max, and possibly some agi.

Bracelet of Holding x 2 - sta, agi, dex, nice HP max, AR too.

I usually don't wear a helmet, cause my stats are maxed without it, and they look gay, but if I do wear one, it's usually an obsidian splint helm, decent stats, decent HP max.

Earring of weaver x 2 - Dex, HP max, sta.

Froglok Signet ring - Dex, str, HP max.

Don't remember necklace, nothing special.

Weapons:

The bloodsabre (PoD weapon quest.) Nice dur, damage, and hp max, use it as a spare.

Ssslithar Katar - Nice Damage / dur, use it as a spare.

Earthshard - Decent stats / Damage, good dur, another spare.

Uzrathixius' Fang - Nice damage, ( 740), decent dur, gives 30 dex too. Another spare.

Katana and Wakizashi of Toxicity - Main weapons, nice 220 proc that goes off often, high dur, 715 damage, I consider them the best weapons for a DD in the game.
