Poll:
Do you perfer your tank to:

1. Run to pull the mob once the mob runs
2. Run to pull the mob once the mob dies.
(I Perfer 1.)

Poll:
Do you think your tank should:

1. Taunt Pull
2. Body Pull
3. Bow Pull
4. Debuff/DoT Pull
5. Different pulls at different camps.
(I perfer 5. I usually perfer 1/2 though.)

Don't want to be mean here, but Sin the first poll shouldn't even be a choice. IF and I emphasize IF you are killing mobs that do try to run when almost dead, you should never stick around and kill it being the tank. You should be running to get another mob. It's called chain pulling. It speeds up XP tremendously.

Again this really isn't something that needs a vote. If you are a tank, every camp calls for a different type of pulling. What's best is simply up to you.

The answer for both depends on the camp.

For one if there is a chance of the mob running into another group then they should stay till the kill, if not then get the next pull while the DD's kill the runner.

For two, all camps are different, some you have to body pull because the mobs are chained others arnt and you spell/bow pull. Then out of spell pulling and bow pulling I prefer spells since they dont cost money to replace arrows at the end of the grind.

I agree Dirges, but as far as your first point...as a tank you should position yourself and pull to a spot where any "running" mobs wont pull a whole camp. If you don't, you are stuck around killing, and in my opinion wasting time for the group. The circumstance you described is so rare, you either need a new tank, or the DD's need to save their best attacks for the mob's last bubble (when the mob runs).

I agree totally on the 2nd issue. Although I could go into a 5 paragraph rant about de-buff pulling. Every camp requires a diff. method, simple!

Which camp are you taunt pulling from? Every camp that I've ever done at DFC, requires the use of body pulling due to mobs being too close to one another. Scratch that, all but 1 camp, that I've been at, required body pulling.

for when you pull it should normally be when or just before the mob starts running away, gotta know the camp for this because some mobs run away way early (kappas on that bridge thing near the temple with the hard snakes that i dont remember the name of... might be warriors or guards)and some mobs dont run at all... usually human lookin guys. so i guess this falls under category 1 on the poll..as for how you pull, it all depends on the camp.... if you can taunt pull without getting multiple mobs (most normal camps) then do it... if you're body pulling and you cant taunt it before it attacks another group member (usually undead camps) then pull with taunt. if you need a low aggro long range pull (snow griffons for example) use an sk tap or a bow. so this falls under 5 i guess for your poll... but it all depends on what camp you're at, who's in your group, where your group members are positioned in comparison to the mobs. only take this advice when you're tanking though... dont be a drd or wizard trying to pull for your tank... it wont work out well most of the time

If i could i would use a spell to pull, I usually used the most recent DoT or Debuff i recieved. This is not the best method, use your weakest ones to conserve mana. My best debuffs take 450+ mana to use but i stick with my weakest debuff, which costs like 16 mana. Same goes with bow, im not sure Pals or Wars get debuffs but stay away from your best ones.

Look, chain-pulling is ok and all, but if the DDs are still frikking chasing the mob, that is in the death-trots, and the Tank is allready back with another mob, it is time to slow dafuk down!

If the DDs are finnishing off the mobs pretty fast by all means then chain pull, if not, then don't.

One thing I can't stand, as a Tank, is for the members of the group to tell me how to pull. I don't tell them how to play, don't tell me! If you no like something about a group memeber, then leave group, don't be an asss and presume to tell someone else how to play, itz just plain RUDE!

Sometimes tanks kill the mob so they can get the stacks if they don't want anyone to loot for them.
