Bio-Pets taking over?Follow

I am a master CH and love the profession ( 3 years as a Tamer in UO must have summat to do with that!)

Recently I have noticed fewer and fewer tamed pets being used and loadsa bio-pets everywhere.

This is not surprising considering, in my opinion, there arent any tameables that are level for level as good as a well made bio-pet.

EG - I have a Shear mite lvl 25 10k HAM across the board 60% kinetic resist and some other goos resists that I cant remember and a strong poison special attack. Can someone tell me of a level 25 tameable that can come anyhwere close to this?? Closest I can think of is Boar Wolf with 9k HAM 50% kinetic and a few other resis, but really there is no competition.

Also I just bought a level 67 Gurreck with 13k HAM 60% kinetic, other resists are excellent too 3 at 80% and another at 50%, Light Armor and a strong poison special attack.

At present there isnt even any level 67 tameables in the game! I think its time a few more high level tameables were introduced in the 65 - 70 level range to gimme a bit more pleasure in taming. To me, a tamer should tame his pets in the wild, not browse the local bio-pet shops for a "goodun"

Even the bio mounts are massively better than any mounts I can tame so I find it hard to sell mounts.

Oh well, spose its a good time for the Bio-engineers.

At this rate, in my view, tamed pets will become obsolete .

yea i agree every MCH has a kimogila, which are like level 140 in the wild. then again i want to be a ch and use those awesome pets, so im not really complaning.

I, myself, am a MCH. My strongest pet (wild one) is a lvl 50 rancor and a Toxic Merek. It's really anoying to purchase bio pets when your suppose to tamed animals in the wild. Our Biggest strength (our pets) are not even our own, there are bought (bling bling). And since the coming of vehicules ,mounts are hard to sell .Now we have to compete with bio-eng pets .At least my holo told me to master bio-eng. That solve my problems but for the other CH is a pain !!!

I was talking to a couple of buddies on-line and a similar subject came up. It was based mainly on how easy it was to purchase Bio-Pets vs. tamed CH pets. If CH could sell their pets on a vendor that would seriously help them out. I was told that only BE pets could be placed on vendors. I'm sorry if this info was wrong.

I have bought both Bio and tamed pets. I like CH pets for the fact they are trained and ready to go. When I buy a Bio-Pet, which I prefer for the better stats, I still use a CH for training. I ALWAYS tip 15%-20% of the pet's cost.

I see pets as weapons. You buy swords and guns, so why not buy pets? If the pets are going to keep me alive by being stronger and enable me to go places I couldn't go with normal pets then ofcourse the bio pets are also good for gameplay

The reason why Bio pets are more common than ch pets is simply that they are engineered better than the ones you can get in the wild, especially the non-ch pets which are useless tamed from the wild. A non-ch tamed pet is a useless tank, a non-ch bio pet is a useful tank.

Even with the numerous bio pet cheat bugs (creature levels, HAM, etc.) getting fixed Bio pets will be a necessary part of the game despite their huge cost.

Bio engineers can make quite a killing on clothing and pets now.

As a Ch I really don't care where the pet comes from as long as the critter is good. Well early on I think people weren't buying that much from Bio-Eng. Now Bio-Eng are producing goods people want. I say good job SOE!!!
