I realize that this question will be answered in one way or another in another two or so days, but I have a carrion spat that will be level 70.

It's currently CL 49, and isn't showing the option to tame as a mount. One of the reasons that I wanted a carrion spat tank was so that I could use it as a high level mount, but I'm starting to wonder if I will be able to tame it.

Does anyone know if it will be tamable once it gets to its maximum CL? Or is it only possible to tame a mount up to a certain CL? (The BE who made it has a CL 35 spat that he has tamed as a mount, so I know that it can be done to CL 35)

If not, the other reason is that it will be hilarious to see a spat kicking the bull and mutant rancors around Dathomir. As a level 49, this one is already pretty much able to wipe the mat with them (and a bit of carbine help!). Pretty funny.

I have a lv 49 Carrion spat that I use as my high lv mount. I tamed it at lv1 but couln't make it a mount until lv 49/fullgrown. Hope this helps!

Yeah, usually you can't mount pets until they're full grown.

Out of professional curiosity (being a BE+CH) what stats does your CL 70 Spat have?

When a creature is mountable is based on the creature's size, not clvl. When it's big enough, you can train it as a mount. In my experience, carrion spats are typically ready at 80-90% of full size.

Thanks. I JUST got the option to train it as a mount, at CL 59/70.

I'll wait until level 70 just in case. I was starting to wonder since my Mountain Dewback (my previous mount) allowed training at CL 6/20. I guess that spats only allow it at 80% (exactly when mine allowed it). Interesting touch to have pets trainable at different levels.

Thanks again for the replies.

It has HAM of about 13K (Health and Mind about 13.5K, Action of about 12.5K), AR1, Resists on kinetic and energy of approx 60% and 50%, most other resists (blast, etc.) of about 60-70%, attack speed is about 1.95 with 550-560 damage. Stunning strike and strong poison as specials.

All in all, a pretty tough spat.

Pets continue to grow to their max mount size after you train them as mounts.

I confirmed this with a savage humbabla i trained around level 12ish (of 24), which still grew to level 24 after. So go ahead and train him as a mount... you shouldn't stunt him.

Nice spat btw :)
