Sadly this saying goes with swg as well. I dabble in just about everything but im a master of nothing. Is there any way a person like me can make my way in swg?

Yes, especially in Larger hunting parties of brawlers and marksmen who want to go hunting.

As an artisan you can find resources quickly and create weapon power ups which are expended quickly on hunting trips. You can also gather resources for meds more quickly this way.

Durring the battle you can use your distance weapon skill (I prefer Pistol) to either distract the enemy or further damage them along with the rest of the party of would be Kryat Dragon Slayers.

If members of the party are hurt or incapped durring the fight you can use your low level medic abilities to drag there bodies out of harms way, and staunch there bleeding, not to mention healing the weak and injured so they can rejoin the fight.

After the Battle is over you can use your Scout skills to make camps for the party to rest in while you heal there battle fatigue with either musician or dancer skills, and once ther battle fatigue is healed you can begin working on there health and action wounds.

So yes there is a place for you, I know because as you said I am a Jack of All Trades and Yes a master of Non.

IMO alot of master BS is all hype. Like too many players are too proud of there master scout or artisan tags all loudmouth in your face ingame. Now like master BH or CH or something thats like kinda impressive but I tire of master scouts ingame and there delusions of grandeur..

I could have masturd scout.. But then I asked, why. So I can make a prettier camp, that no one ever sees or no ones ever really cares about? So I can throw better "traps"?

I had no plan when I opened this game a month a go of what I was going to become. I have 1 skill point right now I think. I said ***** mastering for now and went with what I thought I needed.

Artisan 2/3/3/2
brawler 4/0/0/0
marksman 4/4/0/4
medic 1/0/1/0
scout 4/0/4/2
CH 0/1/2/0
nov pistoleer
nov rifleman
smuggler 0/0/1/4

keep dabblin!

Depends on your gameplay...

If you intend on being a factor in pvp you need to pick a direction asap. If you're going for support then it's not as important, however most classes get certain bonuses when you master them so if you don't master anything you will be missing out on something that can make you that much more efficient.

i.e. Say I just wanted to get llc maxed out and nothing else then I wouldn't be able to benefit from mitigation 3, which is bad.

ive been messin around with char builder and i got this template for a char who dabbles alot!

Artisan 4034
Brawler 0040
Entertainer 0004
Marksman 4004
Medic 3334
Scout 4122

that may be a little too much variety but tell me what you think.

I hear what your sayin Varrus and I've been wondering alot about it lately cause I'm thinking of joining the GCW, Idk if my dabbling will take me far there. I'll probably start dropping all non combat and maybe just go exclusively with pistoleer/smuggler. But god it feels like cutting a finger off for me to remove skills.

When joining a guild there is no need to be a jack-of-all-trades because in the guild there will be masters and they will be able to build better stuff then you. I do beleive when starting out it's best to be a jack-of-all trades. You learn a lot and you can guess what most of the professions are like. Then pick one you enjoy and master it. I also think you might not have to master anything if you don't want too. I'm sure the guild will like you because you have a bunch of skills and I bet you could run a very interesting vendor. There is a roll for everyone in this game you just have to find it and play it if you choose to.
