Okay, I admit it. I'm lost. What the heck does TEF mean? And how does it affect me? I get that if I help a Reb or an Imp I'm temporarily on their faction... but what else does it do?

A Temporary Enemy Flag (TEF) is a marking that anyone receives for aiding that faction that will go away in a few minutes. Say you are a rebel and you shoot an Imperial NPC (Which his death will be avenged, lol), you will be TEFed. I do not believe citizens (what I refer to as neutral players) can get a TEF, but I've never been one... so don't quote me on that.
You get a 5 minute TEF when you are faction aligned and Covert and do either of the following:
1) You attack an NPC who is flagged of the opposing faction.
2) You Heal, Buff, or Cure an illness of another Overt Player of your faction.
Neutral players cannot attack faction flagged NPC's at all.

So, if I'm not on a faction, I can heal and dance to my little heart's content and not have to worry about getting randomly ganked?

i also have a q about this, when u join a facton even tho covbert do u get tef'd, and i know its sopposed to be next to ur ham, buti never c it. one time i got tef'd didnt know it got killed and had my bike blown up, i was a newbe on that player at the time so it was a big deal. but itr all worked out cause bria crashed 2hrs and got reset!
Actually as a Neutral Player you can attack factioned NPC's if you have a mission. Otherwise how did anyone join either faction :p
So thats why I after I sat in the Cantina and danced for another rebel I got flagged. I was wondering.....I really got slammed all of a sudden after that. Good xp tho :0
