Currently I am a Mon Calamari artisan trawling through the big grdin from level 4 Engineering to (whatever i decide). I have also taken up marksman and brawler to get to smuggler so i want to know a) the best way to do the engineering grind (building wind generators seems to net the most craft xp but eats up too many resources and takes forever); and b) the best way to get through the unarmed combat tree.
For the craft exp cdef pistols,carbines and rifles are the best in practise mode.
Unarmed Combat:
1,2 around towns
3 womp rats
4 zuccas, scyks
This is only on tat because thats where i leveled it;
If you have good armor you should have no problem; take a friend for scyks cause if you hit a lair then about 10 spawn sometimes
Also buy a vibroknuckle with unarmed, the damage reduction is nothing and you attack alot faster.

I have some of these on order (knuckles that is).
Why do you say making those items is the best? Dont they produce very little xp (albeit for less resources)? Also, ive never used practise mode, i thought it gave less xp (critical failures are somewhat rare and not that much of an issue).

Cause they only require an inorganic and something else (been a while since i grinded)
The harvestors fail alot and require lots of resources. In my experience cdefs are the best to grind with. Also if you actually make a few for real you can give them out free to newbies and get usage exp. I dunno it just i grinded themwhen i did artisan and i went up quite fast.

I grinded Bone Armor Chest Plates. 300 Gen. Craft XP or so per single chest plate. Got me through to Novice Weaponsmith, and after dropping Novice Weaponsmith for resource reasons, got me through to Novice Tailor.
Unarmed 1-4 should be easy. I did it ungrouped on Corellia, South of Coronet. I beat up on random spawns of Scavenger Rats, Durni, Vynock, Gubber, and others. Level 4 of unarmed was slow, but I got through it within a few days.

Im glad you brought this up because that city HATEs machine. There is so much lag there - perhaps because ist the most populr city in the game (Infinity server), but due to the sheer weight of people PLUS their menageries (too many creature handlers and too many pets). Factor in vehicles which slow things up and I can spend an hour (no word of a lie) just moving around the starport trying to get out and then in!
Bestine and tatooine at least never suffers from this!
