after being an Imperial player for 3 weeks i finally got my FIRST KILL today against a Rebel! It was a great feeling (althoughhe was a tagged covert so i felt a little bad)... although I die more often than not in PvP, I always remain OVERT (said covert before correction.. whoops) because of the added thrill (probablymore thrill for me as a novice gunfighter, no master commando or anything like that)
still though... is there a problem with picking on covert characters? i mean, overts tend to go overt because they know what they're getting into... should I not have taken the oppurtunity?

I wouldnt feel bad. If he was truly covert you would not have been able to kill him. He or you must have had a tef flag and you didnt notice it. I used to play pvp by the honor system until I was with a group of 3 Overt imps. One of our guys wanted to duel one reb. It was supposed to be one on one. I was moving out of the way so they could fight and he attacked me instead. He got 2-3 good shots on me before I figured out what was going on. So if your Pvp'ing anything goes.
I play a Rebel on 1 server and and Imperial on another. Both are Covert. I suck at PvP and well I suck at PvP. And being in a faction is the risk you and I take. I've yet to kill another faction player. But then I don't devote alot of time to those characters. My first PvP death from TEF pissed Me off for about a minute. I was mad at the fact the person DB'd me rather then just incapped me and let me walk away with my tail between my legs so to speak. But then I remembered it's only a game and said 'oh well' recloaned and went on about destroying NPC camps for points and credits.
Nothing wrong with what you did. Although I'd prefer t o not DB them and roleplay it out so they left without dying. Unless they gte mouthy after incap. Then it's open season. But that's just me. Oh and did I mention I suck at PvP?

Good for you I got my first couple kills the other day. They were both Overt Imps.

its good to see people are so cool with the pvp.. i know i always give props to people who kill me for a battle well played so i guess i shouldn't feel guilty... as long as no one gets DB'ed in specifically FRIENDLY duels (yet to happen to me) then its ALL COOL! what great community potential we have as a society!
I play as covert but have slipped up once before. I entered a city with TEF up which I got from healing an Overt. I didn't even notice it. Only took about 5 mins being in the city before a commando took a few shots at me :)
Luckily I was quick enough to pop out my bike and take off like a bat out of hell. I'm an Artisan by the way with no real combat skills :)
I was fair game and actually enjoyed the encounter, made me much more aware of what I was doing in the game, relieved some boredom etc..
If being attacked by another player ticks you off then don't get involved in the pvp in any way shape or form, easy.

The PA i'm in is by far the most powerful on Naritus hence we are regular targets of combined rebel raids which we repulse easily. I've been on a few raids and downed a number of rebels but I don't really want to get a rep among the rebs just yet because then they can ban me from their cloning centers which really helps in raids. I'm waiting until I get MBH to fully get into the raiding scene. Right now I'm 1 1 2 4 in bh.

the cool thing is that for me, its veryVERY easy to roleplay an Imperial Officer though.. i mean in the eyes of the ignorant citizens (my char included), the rebels make up the anarchists, terrorists and all other groups of ill-repute while the Imperials are the military, the police officers, the guard and so on...
same goes for rebels.. as far as RPing goes, rebels can easily play the role of eager anarchists and pirates who join the rebellion to start **** with imperials

yeah i remember my first kill and infact it was my only kill... i was on naboo and i was campen out i the middle fo nowhere when this rebel on a speeder drives by and im like oh **** what do i do(cause usually i would always get killed, rather easily) so i was standed there and i pulled my darktrooper out! (yeah!!) and the rebel came up and we started blasten and so did my trooper well the dude started runnin around shooten and then me and my darktrooper knocked his *** out!! it was pretty damn cool. so then i went over to the ******* and i DB'ed him!! im naturally against DBing but he started it and besides if i hadnt won he would have done it to me. it was pretty exciting. but after i getten killed so much and then my darktrooper getten killed ( he was in a cantina i was traden with my friend and the ******* just starten attacken me in the cantina! u *******!!! i think his name was Arge on Ahazai server)i just quit cause i was tired of the ******** of after i had spent all that time tryen to get my trooper

This reminds me of the guy who started yelling abuse at some rebels who shoot up his AT-ST. ;O)
