Give me No-Drop, or give me Death!Follow

Its pretty sad... coming from EQ seeing that quest items are for sale in baz terminals. why so dull, SoE?

I want no-drop equipment with more than resistance (skill mods!) that can be achieved thru both quests and huge bosses in dungeons that take anything from 2-3 players up to 15+ people to take down with L33T L3WTZ. I'm sorry, but from what I've seen (which isn't much) SWG still looks like the never-ending xp crunching, and the strongest equip available being player made.

Give me No-Drop, or give me Death!!

Hi Shoji!

It looks to me if you want another EQ.
Myself came from EQ (played for 3 years on Innoruuk) and i know that feeling... but SWG isnt EQ. It isnt a world of magic and artifacts, its a SciFi Game.

I like the idea of player made equipment more then finding no drop stuff, cause it would be another dumb EQ camping mobs game.

A mix from both will be in EQ2 so wait on this and you will be satisfied! :)

the whole point of not having major loot drops is to not ruin the gaming experience of crafters. if you have loot drops that are better than what the crafters can make, no one will buy from them. then where would we be economy wise? you would have combat characters with millions and millions of credits cause they would sell rares and drops from high end MOBs. crafters, on the other hand, would be pretty much non-existent. why craft what you can't sell?

EQ equipment is based on NPC drops and quests.
SWG equipment is based on player economy and some quests.

Playing EQ for four years I could understand No-Drop on there with their system (although I never fully agreed with their implementation of it). In SWG I don't seem to understand your logic. How would making items No-Drop benefit a player driven economy? For that matter, what would be the point?

I have to agree with AxeAL. It sounds like you want EQ with Star Wars skins. The Exp "grind" can be played much more naturally in SWG than EQ. (Who the hell ever heard of a baker killing beetles, rats and bats to make their food? Eww!) I've actually been able to advance in my chosen professions by roleplaying my character! Imagine that! :) One of my biggest disappointments with EQ was "phat lewts"... Loot rotations, camp calenders, what a bunch of crap. "Sorry guys, we can't organanize a raid this friday... X uber-guild has the whole zone camped."

Think I'll take a pass on that.

Stop grinding. It's a mmoRPG. Interact instead of grinding. I find it ironic that most of the people that I've heard complain about SWG not having the content of EQ where actually saying "Hey! Where are the camps?" Admittedly they need to add a lot of content, but from what I see there is a lot of potential.

Now, I will agree with one point... IF they could implement a dynamic system that would discourage "camps" I wouldn't mind interesting large scale encounters, but I think that is what they are trying to acomplish by adding more flavor to the GCW.

Not that's an interesting way to attract neutrals to your cause ;)

I like the fact SWG has crafters and that their items are valuable. I would like to see loot items be a little better. More items that require certain loot to be crafted or reach their full potential. Maybe a one time use schematic you can loot, make the item then the schematic disappears(possible way for Mandolorian armor to be introduced). There needs to be a balance. Missions and quests need something other than more credits for reward, but crafting still needs to be valid.

You've got to admit that the drops are pretty stupid in this game. Last night my group killed some dog or something, and got a "projectile feed mechanism" off of it, that makes a lot of sense. My Lab always carries around a spare projectile feed mechanism. Or you'll be fighting someone with armor on and a T21 rifle, and for a drop you'll get a CDEF pistol, seems completely random.

Ok, well... I don't HAVE to admit it, but I will :) LOL

I don't think they should make the drops that much better (if at all) but at the same time, it never made much sense to me that a rifle toting, armor wearing NPC drops a set of clothes (for the wrong gender or such lol) and a pistol.

It used to drive me crazy in EQ that yetis and such dropped money... I mean WHERE did they keep it?? :) It would be nice to see at least some logic in the drops just for realism.

neutrals are non imperialists. they support neither side in the fight. what's the point of playing a star wars game if you don't take part in the "wars" part. but anyways, neutrals aren't allowed in the guild and thus need not apply.

i agree with both sides of the story here i think kinda there should be some stuff dropped thats rare say by eliteppl once every so often but keep it limited. BUT the looting system to me is messed up because i go to loot some npc shooting me with a gun i then go and get to loot a kife off him or even his bandolier or something ( sorry if im going on)i think it would be kool just to loot np weapons each time u kill em even tho you may not want it or the gun / waepon may be useless. plz can sum1 give their opinion on this

Acutally, the SWG page somewhat indicates that neutrals are non-military ordinary citizens. And I'm not sure about others, but I don't play factions, because my first experience with PvP wasn't very RP.... it was dying to the words of "LOL U SUXXOR... I just PWNED you *****!" :) Not, "Die Rebel Scum!" I'll probably eventually try it again, but it'll be after I've seen the lay of the land, so to speak.

If you play as an actual Imperial, I'd be honored and rather amused to be killed by you. LOL

I was just pointing out, maybe you should change it to something like a, "The Emperor needs YOU!" slogan campaign... because a lot of the neutrals (like myself) that are holding off on joining a faction until we've decided, certainly don't want to join one that has called us names! ;) hehe
