crafting a perfect 15.00 crafting toolFollow

I'm a master artisan on Far-star galaxy and I just made another charater on Infinity.
I needed a WDGI crafting tool and this guy say ill make you one and it was a perfect 15.00 effectivness!

My Master Artisan can only get at the most 11.50 so I was wondering what were the properties of material I should look for to get 15.00?

I use copper with 900+ OQ and 900+ conductivity on the metal/minireal unit and my best chemical is a 900+ OQ lube oil.

I presume if I use different materials, maybe with different properties i could get better results but what?

the chemical component of your finished product won't make that much of a difference at all since there's no Conductivity rating on it, it doesn't actually count towards the quality of the finished product. The only way to make a 15.00 tool (a.k.a. 100% after experimentation), you will need to find a metal with 1000 conductivity. No other way to do it.

Bloody hell! 1000 conductivity. Doesn't OQ come into it at all?

This guy gave me it for free when i asked but tipped him last 50c anyway (new character so no cash)

1000 in any stat surely never appears?

I've been doing surveys since i got the game at start of decemeber and never seen 1000 in any stats on any material.

There is copper with 1000 CD. if you go to www.swgcraft.com you can look up any resorce by name and/or stat, server, and planet also. It will also tell you if the=at resorce is currenty\ly active or not and how long it has been that way.

Yes indeed, you need to check the schematic for what stats are used in each thing you make. OQ plays no part in making these tools, only conductivity counts. As resources change there will be a copper with 1000 conductivity sometime or other, you just have to keep surveying and checking the craft websites.

Being a Master Artisan I get a lot of tells from people trying to sell me what they call HQ Steel, but only because it has a high OQ rating... I don't need OQ on steel, I need high SR and nothing else :P

This is one of the most understood things about the crafting profession I think to non-crafters so help them out and explain what stats you really need.

ahh... that explains it a bit more. I thought OQ would always come into so that you would have a hybrid result eg:
1000 OQ and 1000 SR = 1000 SR overall
500 OQ and 500SR = 250 SR overall because oq is halved

I had nothing to base this on it was a wild assumption obviosly!! lol.

So if it said 40% OQ and 60% SR (as it does sometimes)

you could have 400OQ and 600SR and it would be perfect or you would need 1000 in each to be perfect?

Someone should write a more detailed crafting guide explaining all of this!

hi all....

i made craploads of tools at 14.70 (previously the highest i ever saw was 14.55)using 993 (or 996 i forgot) conductivity copper...i have never seen higher but i agree that 1000 conductivity copper should enable a 15.00 tool

i charged 750 per tool and 3250 for a crate of 5

i do however believe you need all of your experimentation points (ie master artisan) to do so...

a crafting station above +30 in rating also helps...i used a 38.41....helps lessen experimentation failures and brings you beyond your experimentation points

also...LOL... this should be obvious...if you want to craft a 15.00 tool..usa a highly rated tool to begin with...it will cut down on assembly failure and result in a higher rating to start with prior to experimentation...

no other resource attribute is applicable other than conductivity...i believe along with the copper mentioned above, i used grinder crap chemical and achieved the 14.70

thanks for reading

actually all you need is +20 to artisan experimentation and a 950+ conductivity copper to max out at 15... that is the true key if you don't have the 1000 conductivity stuff.

My master artisan makes 14.97 tools, with not quite 1000 cond.

Does a 15.00 craft better quality products or fail less or both?
#11 Feb 02 2004 at 9:45 AM Rating: Decent
Having made many 15.0 crafting tools and 99.99999% FR Repair kits with 990 OQ and 1000 Conductivity stuff, I would have to say that the difference between 14.8 and 15.0 or 98.7 and 99.99999% is minimal. I have seen a friend break 3 out of 5 pieces of composite armor with one of those 99.99999% repair kits and I have crit failed just as much with a 15.0 tool as an 8.60 tool while grinding exp. The percents on these things seem to be general guides for tool quality but not literal numbers. 99.99999% should only fail once in a million.

congrats to all that can create tools higher than i did at 14.70 using resource with less than the conductivity than i did (see my last post) but i would ask...HOW?

im not doubting any of you...im just curious...someone said all you need is +20 artisan experimentation and +950 conductivity to do so...i just cant see it...is it possible that the servers are slightly different?

aside from being crafted in a manufacturing rated city...how?

im pretty sure that im not doing anything to lessen the chance of getting a 15.00 tool...and when i obtain 14.70...i used all 10 experimentation points (more actually due to "amazing") and while doing so, did not have an experimentation failure...

i DO agree with the poster who mentioned that the differences are negligible between 14.70 and 15.00 as i have not seen a difference in 14.55 and 14.70 myself...i still get an occasional craft failure...although i DO see a difference if i use a crappy tool compared to my better ones...such as a 10.00 rather than a 14.70...

oh well...i though i was hot &@^$ for getting 14.70 on my server LOL...

any info that answers my question would be appreciated...thanks all
