Is it me or is this skill completely useless? Whenever I use it and have a success I only get 1 unit of the resource. Is this normal?

I think it depends on what lvl of pharmocology you have , if you have pharm 4 , you might get like more units of the resource.
I never medical forage because I hate it. :)

It is practically useless. The quantities of identical resources that you need to make the simpliest stims can't be foraged in a single attempt.. and what you actually forage seems totally random.

wWell its like if all else fails your in the middle of no where you need to gnaw on some yarrock or burn some gabuki sometimes med forg comes in handy. Heres how to stack em easy just put em in there own backpack and then drag them to backpack and they'll stack themselves. It just something to do while loitering it can actually come through in a bind, although not with haste.

I have tried and tried to use Medical Foraging with very little true sucess. I have survey 2 and pharmocology 2 and it is far easier to survey for an item and then sample it then to forage. Sure you can forage any time and almost anywhere, but I have found that at the most you will only receive 1 unit of an organic material. It is true that in most cases you almost always collect a 1 unit sample with very few failures, but what are you supposed to do with 1 unit hardwood, 1unit wild corn, and 1 unit of wild flowers....Nothing!!!

My suggestion is this, if you find yourself waiting for a shuttle or mob to regenerate, simple survey for the closest usable resource in the highest quantities near you. Once you have located sed resource, sample it untill the cows come home, or the shuttle lands or what ever.

Sorry to rant, but come on, why give the players a potentially usefull ability that in actuality does Nothing!!!

P.S. I would love to learn of an actual use for medical foraging.

At least with normal Scout forage you get useful unique food buffs like Onions which give an impressive 500+ mind boost among others although resrouces you forage are equally as useless as medical forage.

Medical forage should find similar but different resources to the scout forage to make it at least partially worthwhile.

Its for a galaxy thats in its birth without mass production going on. Simple as that. Before there were hydro farms there were med foragers, and they, in lore, were rumored to be masters of their realm. But that all changed. You see, the industrial revolution happened in this universe also, and forced the Master Medical Foragers into seclusion.

They were driven to the hills and went mad some say they were hunted by the greedy hydro farmers, the so called hunters.. They exiled themselves from the rest of the community and they befriended the tusken, who happen to regaurd medical foraging religiously. They befriended the tusken and slept beside banthas. They befriending the tusken, and sucked up easy XP fighting by there side, fighting the enemies of the Tusken..

They come down from the hills sometimes wandering into town but are somewhat skittish in urban enviorments. They do what they do best, med forage on the steps of cantinas, and puke from spice withdrawls.

And yet they are the unsung forgotten heroes; The Master Medical Foragers...

Bravo Jerok, My good Bard.

Doesn't really matter how you put it Medical Foraging aint worth Crap Now.

Please prove me otherwise, so that I might make better use of one of my few potential skills.
