Ok, last nite i had to come to reality. A very good friend of mine (Madpotter 56 sorcerer DH)made me realize something. Sony really has "nerfed" the wizard class. I can remember a long time ago when i did mega dmg for my level. Now, im not doing near as much dmg as a wiz should. It's not my dex, i have 192 base dex and with gear on dex is around 350. I dont know what happened, but i remember when wizards had a 60% dex mod. I dunno where that went, but all wizards that are pist about how little dmg we do now, should bug sony to change it again. Something else that really ticks me is when you do tell them they say something to "it's your fault you made a wizard". I am just saying we need to get them to fix it. Please support us wizzies!!

It might be because I am still a lower level Wizard, but I am pretty happy with the damage my wizzy does. Granted, I can't take down red mobs by myself in blow to blow combat even if I cast my nukes. But should I really be able to? My wizzy could easily pull the agro from any mob in any grp. How does that not say the damage, compared to other classes, is outstanding. In doing so though, I would eliminate my place in this game as a grp orientated DD with the ability to defuse out of control situations. But don't get me wrong, if you can convince them to increase the Dex modifiers, I won't complain one bit.

Class masteries, namely the "balance series" will allow you to increase your max dex. At level 30 I was and continue to be at 410 dex. This gives me a hard number to deal with until level 45 where i get another mastery in balance (4). As your progress through the masteries the max dex is at 600 at level 60. So the max damage that can be done is the base damage of the spell + 60% of 600 dex. I agree if your character is well planned an one can aquire the proper equipment, you should not be punished with a dex cap.
Also at lvl 44 there are may ways to improve your dex (direct damage).
Crafting jewerly at lvl 41-45 you can wear jewerly crafted from Adamantite. By using Onyx as a gem can yield a +35 dex to that item. Up to 7 items can be crafted at + 35 dex per item. Two rings, bracelets, errings and one pendant. This yields a + 245 dex to your rating. So at a base of 192 you now have a dex of 437. At lvl 45 balance (4) can be purchased thus increasing your max dex to 440. This frees up the other 8 slots to devote to POW and INT items.

Hope this is some help

How long have you had your wizard? Wizards USED to get a 60% dex mod, but..SoE nurfed it so now, we dont do nearly as much. What i think we should do is all complain to sony about it and get the 60% dex mod back. Think u do alot of dmg now? wait till u do a spell once they fix it (if they do).

My Annihilation spell has a base of 1326 dmg. My dex is at 410.
At 60% of 410 thats 246 + 1326 = 1572 and that is what it does, 1572 every time except if the MOB has a resistance to the spell.

My Lightning Blast has a base of 708 + 246 = 954, but i actually get 978 out of it.

And I was playing today with the same results. I believe the 60% is still in effect.

Hope this helps

I would have to agree that the damage base is still intact. I do very large amounts of damage and am very pleased with my DD output. The only thing I dont like is the lack of damage on the sorcerer malestrom line of spells. They were alot more powerful in beta ,and they lightened them up quite a bit. But as a wiz goes I do over 4k damage on a lvl 50 mob with a lvl 49 tank, and that isnt using the biggest nukes, so it seems to be working for me. Besides that, anything within 6 lvls of me either way can take me down fast, but then again that is why we have bindings.

ok, WizardHorata, how do you know what the base damage of your spells are? There is no way to have "0" dex to see what the base is...

Another easy way to tell the modifier is to take some of your dex stuff off cast your spell, then put it back on and cast the same spell, the difference is the modifier. The total will be easier to figure if you make try to keep your test dex at 100. That way you just need to look for 60 pts of damage. Also try to avoid testing on mobs with resistences.
