I'm thinking of buying this game and I need some advice on what to do when I start out. First I want to be a Bounty Hunter eventually. I'm aware that you have to master scout and marksmen to be able to be a bounty hunter. The First question is what race is the best for Bounty Hunter? Secondly how should I disribute my stats at the character creation? Also what's a good planet to start out on? Thanks to anyone who helps and if I can think of anymore questions i'll just post them here.

Well, I would suggest that you first read up on the different races in this site and see what folks have said. That said, I am a human bounty hunter and that is ok. I tried to balance my stats but found as I got higher up I had to migrate them to have more action and health and less mind. This was due to the amount of action points my specials take. I have heard that Bothans make very good Bh's, becuase they get some special boosts (I think to conceal and quickness; correct me if I'm wrong someone). As for planets that is kind of up to you. I started on Tatooine, but eventually headed up to Talus. I'm sure others will have some advice on their favorite planets.

Thanks for the help. I think i'll probably make a Human as well since I like the way they look and since their stats seem to be good for a Bounty Hunter.

I think everyone has their own favourite planet, but I like Tatooine best. It doesn't have very difficult animals unless you really go and look for them (good for new people in particular), it's desert which means there's no undergrowth. That may not sound too important but I found that tackling animals on planets with tall plants was more difficult as you can't see them to target them, in the dark at least.
I think it's a pretty social planet too, it doesn't feel so big that you're lost on your own.

Idk about the social part but could just be my luck too. 3 weeks old here on Valcyn with a total blank friend list but I've got used to it and became a hermit lizard. I sometimes have to go to anchorhead but I always keep my chat box closed I dont even want to know anymore whats been said lol. I tried for a week and a half to be social but.. I ended up bitter. Now I just run from everyone I see before they can say anything at all.
Btw I heard valcyn was an unofficial "hardcore" galaxy so it might be different somehwere else. But if powergaming, 1337 d00ds, beggars, coat tail riders, and a majority of people who do nothing but overuse the "hmmmm" cliche` are your thing, then Valcyn galaxy is for you,.
I actually broke my oath of silence in Anchorhead last night now that I recall. I said "OMG WTF just all of you STFU with the "your gay" insults and fight already or forget about it!"

Ask yourself why you want to be a BH first off.
If you want the most firepower BH is not the choice commando is.
Or if you want to be great in close range go master pistoleer or tka.
Your character choice should be based on how you want to play the game.
The reason I'm a BH primarily because when they fix it I'll be able to track down jedi which is an ability exclusive to BH.

Actually, to disagree with you once again Varrus 
I would say if he has decided he wants to be Bounty Hunter because that's what he had in mind for his character then I think that's a good enough reason to choose to be one.

I stand corrected.
I just re-read the OP and he asked about stats and race, if he's number crunching at this early stage then I'd agree that Commando/TKA is the better way to go.

Jerok, I play on Valcyn too. Get away from Anchorhead, hehe. Seems like nothing but griefers and kids there. I'm in a PC on Dantooine now, and it's much better. :)

well this is just an opinion to the social part you gusy were talking about,I'v been to alot of servers and the one i find the most social would be tarquinas,I would consider joining that server....

The reason I want to be a Bounty Hunter is because I think they're cool basically. =) Plus it sounds like you can make a lot of money if you get good enough at this job.
And for the server i'm starting on it will most likely be the one that a friend of mine is on. He's a master commando and i'm gonna bum money and equipment off of him =p. Also I think i'll most likely be starting on Tatooine.
One more BH question, what do you recommend I put more of my stats in Action or Health? Also is it better to have a bigger amount of action and less of the thing(sorry can't remember the name of it) that lowers the cost for action or vice versa? Also just making sure, is Action the thing that BH's use for special attacks?
