Hello, me and a friend are looking to pick a mmpog to play together. We have been looking at all current and future games. I was wondering what game (Everquest 2, Linage 2, SWG, FFXI, PS, DAOC, Eve Online, City Of Heroes) You guys have experience in (Of course not upcoming ones), and why you would reccomend i spend that monthly fee. Thanks

Well I truly enjoy playing this game, as Ive been a huge star wars fan since i can remember. I havent read up on too many of the upcoming MMO's but as far as DAoC ive had several friends quit, and it seems many players on SWG have came from EQ, and DoAC. The only thing I reccomend is just to try it out and see if you like it, as everyone's got their own preferences.

If you decide to try it out feel free to send me a tell as I usually go hunting quite a bit, and I usually enjoy takin out the noobs for a good hunt. Im on the Eclipse Server, by name of Metuhlahkk.

I have played EQ, Ultima, and beta tested some others, DAoC and Asheron's Call, so have some experience.

SWG is a great game, especially if it's your first MMORPG.

It has something for everyone at ANY level which is something many of the other games lack.

It is also newer, so not everyone and everything is established.

Just some thoughts....

P.S. Many people break the game down but a majority are longtime gamers who have expectations based on other games and systems.

One thing you should consider is the type of gameplay you are looking for.

If you like magic/fantasy, this is not the game for you.
If you like shooting/crafting/sci-fi, there is a great deal of it in SWG.
If you like game community, I would recommend SWG. Most people are decent with each other in the game.

Many people (myself included) are a little disappointed with the game thus far. Though I have been playing since launch day and have run out of useful things to do. It is a bit frustrating to wait for the game to get better - but it will.

If you are just starting now, you wouldn't have the same problem. By the time you get to where many players are now there will be much more added to the game.

I strongly suggest WWW.MMORPG.COM as a decent guide to what is available to you. It has a player rating system, and also a "hype rating" for unreleased games.

Base your decision on what you like. All games have advantages and disadvantages.

If you do join us - welcome!
If you do not - then "May the force be with you" anyway.

Good luck.
