Learn how to fence in 7daysFollow

Hi all, I have some great fencing tips.

First of all. Whenever you go up a skill that enables you to get a new weapon, GET THAT WEAPON A.S.A.P.(just to let you know the rantok sword, you get your certification at one handed IV the dance of blades is bugged by having no schematic even if you are a master weaponsmith)

Once you get a fair weapon i think that Fort Tusken gives you the best exp for the time and when you get one handed 3 you can dizzy which REALLY drains your mind pool but is still very affaective.
The only sad part is,is that a lot of people give up because they are weak which is true but when you get one handed IV you can single a mtn squill if you know how to use your skills

I have yet to see a Blademaster with anything other than Gaderiffi. Ok, I have seen one holding a Ryk blade but when I asked him about it he admitted it was just for show and he used a Gaffi as well.

The Rantok is a quest item, afaik, it was never meant to be player made. From what I have read it is not much better than a Ryk and a decently sliced Ryk is far better (my Ryk blade has 1.8 spd)

Any new brawlers working on 1hd and then fencing look on the bazaar under Melee Weapons. I and most other Fencers sell off the Gaffi we don't like the slices on. So you'll pick up a high quality, unused Gaffi with an average spd or damage increase for 2 - 3k.

If anyone is going fencer I recommend taking Master Brawler for the KD you get with Lunge2. Fencing profession gets no KD of it's own but does get a Dizzy so with the same KD from Lunge2, not too mention Warcry and Intimidate2, you will be far more effective.

Does anyone know the stats of a Rantok sword? I won't be doing it anytime soon as I am no friend of Jabba but would be interested in what it's stats are.

Fencers are weak?

Hmmmm
Good Luck
LOL

So you don't actually know then?

OK, well rather than wait for someone that does I did a browse (which I should of done already but..duh, didn't think)

Rantok
Condition: 1000/1000
Volume: 1
Damage: 45-150
Wound Chance: 20.00
Ideal Range: 4.0
Maximum Range: 4.0
Range Attack Mods: 10/10/10
Attack Speed: 3.3
Special Move Health Cost: 27
Special Move Action Cost: 40
Special Move Mind Cost: 25

I'll post from home where I can check my weapons but this looks pretty crap to me. My Ryk is like 73/177 spd 1.8 my Gaffi is around 170/285 spd 3.5
This Rantok is more like the damage of my Vibro blade but over a second slower.
Only good thing about it is the HAM penalties look ok but still not as good as my Vibro Blade.

I use the stun baton in big groups on Dantooine. Most creatures there don't have much stun special protections, so it maximizes the earned xp. However, it is weaker than the gaffi, but faster. Mostly, I use the gaffi on the easier beasts on the starter world's.

I spoke to someone using rantok, theirs waws better than 150, it was like 177(i think if i remeber right) and he says it's good because it has high hit likeliness, you get it by doing jabba quests until he asks you to get it, then once you have it don't give i back

That was the only thing that stood out about it being better than other weapons,

Range Attack Mods: 10/10/10

I assume this is the modifier to hit and it's +10 on all ranges.
But with the stats I've read (and copy/pasted) from this site I wouldn't be in any rush to get one.

Yes the actually quest is to return it to Jabba and then you get to see his bedroom...erm...

You can, or at least used to be able to, repeat the quest to get more than one. Don't know if they have knocked this on the head or not, tho'

I'm now at novice fencer and i'm at a loss as to what the best way to go about leveling it. I'm in the process of looking for a good suit of armor with low mind incumb stats (not sure what to choose ubese, mabari, or padded?). I'm already used to grouping on Dantooine to level my carbineer (2/1/2/1 carbineer), but i'm not sure if this is good enough to level Fencer. I know many creatures have kinetic resists (which any brawler class has as a major damage dealer) and with my stun baton, I can at least attack them with a rarely resisted form of damage. However, my gaffi stick is much more powerful than the stun baton, but, sadly, only does kinetic. Any tips on where to go level that has good Fencer XP and relatively easy creatures with a group of 4-5 players?

So, to end, i'll simplify what I just said...What armor is good for Novice Fencer? Where is a good, easy place to level Fencer (with or without a group)?

Thanks

PS...I'm not doing Carbineer/Fencer for the Hologrind, just simply for fun and to run some Theme parks.

i leveled fencer from bottom to top in 4 hours, this is what i did, got a crate of muon. the best composite you can find, full suit, get master doc buffs then go to a place like dantooine or endor. aggro one lair till they all spawn go to another aggro it, then tank 15 creatures with spin attacks to damage all at the same time, got about 3500 xp per kill, and 15 creatures in one tank fest. after they are done muon should wear off soon, wait till after downer. rinse repeate. or even better is master musician buffs and forget the muon.

A rantok? Nice on Scylla server there isnt a schematic for even if you are a master weaponsmith the only way you can get is to loot it and it is the 2nd rarest loot item the only harder to loot is a holo so almost noone uses it ive seen one sell for 17mil

Well until you make Novice you are not a Fencer you are a Brawler.
Again, Rantok is NOT a player made item, it never has been. It prolly never will be. It is a quest piece, that's all. It is actually meant to be given up and not kept but most people keep them. Try and pay attention 007
