I've been wondering for quite some time, which server is the best? Which one has the most players? The best quality of players? I'm afraid I'm ignorant about anything outside of Hodstock. :/
And btw, this is a rather stupendous site. A well-compiled list of quests and items are stored here. Titillating. :)

I play on the Hodstock server, and have since EQOA started. I'm not on any other servers, but people have told me that Castle Lightwolf(people use CLW for short) was a pretty good server.
It depends on what you want. All I can say is that castle ligthwolf is a good one, I have all but one character on that sever, I have a Barb Shammy on DIREN'S HOLD, when The CLW sever crahsed makeing everyone go back to sever selection.

I have tried every server there is for this game and i have to say that ferrans hope is the best. Not to crowded, very nice ppl, really good well organized guilds. Marrs fist, hodstock and diren are by far the worst of em all, ppl are very rude and of no help, i had a hard time getting into any grp. I played that server for 2 months and only got 2 lvl 22. Once i joined ferrans hope, i found a good guild with lots of ppl to help, very good grping, most everyone is nice, and now i have a 54 shaman, which i need to update on here. The guild I am in now is the best guild i have been in and i do not plan to go anywhere. We have fun, raid alot and everyone is helpful. We now also have a website which i created. If you think ferrans hope is for you and need a good guild check out wetworks. By far the best ppl in the game.

(CRYING SADLY) WHY WHY CANT I SWITCH OVER TO THAT SERVER, ITS NOT FAIR I ASKED THE GM AND THEY CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT MARRS FIST IS A VERY BAD SERVER LOTS OF PEOPLE ACT STUCK UP AND YOU WILL SPEND OVER 6 HOURS LOOKING FOR A GROUP. Hodstock and the other servers that you mentioned aren't that bad. I always have people in my guild and people that I don't even know ask me if I need help with anything. There are tons of good Guilds out there. My guild helps me with everything, even when I don't ask for it. If you have tried every server, how long did you stay on them? I know there are some rude people on the Hodstock server, but not most of the time.
I agree with slime, tho alot of the population of CLW are immature children, there are alot off good people you can meet...you just gotta go out and work thru all the bad seeds before you get to the great people and it will all be worth it. The ages there vary from 10-50+ so you tend to get a wide variety of interesting grps from childish/rude people to mature kids/adults that can be the best of people to grp with.
Ps. In other words dont judge a server by what little you see as from 1-20 you shouldnt experience all too much.

Hmm see I always thought it was CLW that was talked about as the worst...or from what I can tell on the forums has the most griefers...They seem to never have a GM...and while I have never really noticed ours...I have never really had a need for one..and when I did she responded promptly...(shrugs)
I am on Diren's Hold and it is heavily populated...now this of course means the percentage on average will go up for finding a jerk on there...but for the most part there are a few just like on every server that most are aware of and dont like to play with..lol (cough) Subb (cough) ...Never really played with him...seen him be a jerk...but have seen some nice postings from what I think is him on the forums...who knows...I think every server has their own Dizzee...but personally I have found some of the greatest people on Diren's Hold..
The good thing about being heavily populated means it doesnt take too long to find a group..and I have many friends that I have met to usually choose from..But the draw back can be that during the heavy hours there are fewer camps to go to...so I guess that is a toss up...I personally play in the wee hours of the morning after I am home from work...so its usually not too bad...
Diren Hold has a good number of strong guilds though...Anything from the Guild of the Drunken Monkey to the Elite Mercenaries..There are many big and strong guilds..
The server is what you make of it though...usually if you are friendly you wont have too many problems either way..

I personally like CLW the best. I haven't played too much on other servers considering all my friends and guildee's are on CLW too. Yes, CLW may have some ********, I will tell you that. They have good orangized guilds also. But as for me, I'm staying on CLW forever.

As for the people on CLW, they are very friendly relative to the people on Diren Hold who completely ignored me. CLW shuts down and junk a lot though. Personally, I don't think any servers are perfect, but if you need help, many people on this forum have characters on Castle Lightwolf. Good luck!

You know i agree with the FFXI guy. I cant wait for it to come to ps2. I am on Diren Hold. And it just sucks now. I dont have any characters on any other servers I have played Diren Hold the whole time. But, my main beef with this game is that there is no pvp or guild wars . I am sick of being bent over at a camp and the gms do nothing about it and god forbid you train anyone for stealing a camp or ksing you. The way this game is put together is for children anyway. This isnt a pc game, i wish theyd bring EQ2 out for ps2 good luck ive seen the screen shots lol. But i believe if they made this game from the get go pc compatible we wouldnt have such an influx of half *** players. So many people have left this game based on the immaturity lvl. Eceryone acts like they are better than you and its all about what guild your in and what items you got. Frankly i am sick of losing good friends and players because certain guilds KS then turn around with that innocent look on there faces..... like what? Theres no such thing as a camp anyway NOOB.... WTF is that? I mean there are no rulz for ksing and no consequences and you cant train anymore cause its a major offense..... All the god dammn gms are off beta testing EQ2. SO you are stuck at teh mercy of the *** holes. Well i aint paying SOE 10 bucks a month to be ******* harassed by some elitest *** wad that thinks hes the leet ****. All I can say is hurry up FFXI cause i am doen with this game i hope this in some way changes the GM's approach to how they deal with KSers the policy needs to be way more strict. Or at least there needs to be guild war or pvp. Or EqOA police to watch behavior or something.....whatever I am done stressing over a game that will be dead in a year.
