I have the original EQOA. If I was to upgrade to Frontiers, will my old charaters still be there? Do I have to get a new account?

Yes they will be there, if you remember you login name at least, helps if you also know your password, if not they can retreive it for you.
Just enter them when you set up new game with new product id code and they will be there, lookin better than ever, in fact you can even chang appearances.
