Hi,
I was wondering if the vehicles and mounts decrease travel time? Do they work well because I did have to travel a lot to tend to my harvesters? One of the main reasons I quit was I hated those marathon runs to get somewhere cool. Also the guild I was in sort of imploded and there was a mass exit of players. They sure made the game fun but that’s a whole different story.

I was a Master Dancer Master Medic and 2200 on the Ch handler tree. I’m also wondering what the patches did to Ch? Are there any good 30 level animals left or are they all gone. Ch was my only offensive weapons I had. At the time I quit Ch was almost too powerful If I had patients I could almost take down any NPC. CH was almost a double edged sword for me.(ahhhh the days as a fencer!!! Where you had to work your butt off to make a kill if you didn’t run out of pool points) I did loss interest because the npc’s became to easy to fight but the credits you make as Ch where great and then I didn’t have to bag for money as a dancer which made entertaining more fun. Well it was almost dumb for me to go PvP because I dedicated so many skill points to non combat skills. In a Pvp battle I had a support role of hitting people with stim d’s lol . (plus what ever my tank could bring down or poision lol)

May the Force be with you!!!!!

You should find that the vehicles do indeed making tending harvesters quicker. The Swoop bike is just fast enough to make travel to interesting places bearable In my opinion. The only real pain is that they decay very quickly meaning that you have to visit a city regularly to keep them running, or the other option which is to run them into the ground and just buy a new one.

However, the next major patch is supposed to allow you to store 3 vehicles on your data pad (currently you can only have one) which will certainly opens up your gameplay options if you have scout skills and can make camps. IE: use your swoop bike to get to where you wanted then make a camp and pop out your landspeeder for general exploration around that area.

Allowing you to have all 3 types of vehicles in your data pad is a very very good move by the dev team for that reason.

The fast decay rate of vehicles means that mounts are still a very good option if you are short on cash, though not as fast as the slowest vehicle they do allow you to attack in combat as well as costing nothing to maintain (as a non ch anyway). As a ch you have the added option of using your mount to fight with as a normal pet.

One other point though is that you will now find most the planets have a lot of player cities on them, most of which have shuttleports of their own. You may find you can just shuttle hop to tend your haversters no matter where they are on the planet.

One last edit to my original post :) You stated you are a Master Dancer, well they are currently in high demand as they can give out some very nice mind buffs.

Thanks for your reply!!! So it sounds like vehicles are good but not great like most things in the game. We as customers see the potential of SWG to be a great game I just hope SOE is trying to improve it rather then just counting the $$$ I really wish they would listen to some of the negative posts OH WAIT I WAS BANNED from their forum lol!!!! I do think there are some great ideas for the game in these forums I just hope some of SOE is listening!!!!
As for finding a Master Dancer in the game well most were recruited into guilds, a lot quit dancing, or some like me can only dance in cantinas for short periods of time because those marathon dance sessions to master ruined the whole cantina thing. Plus there is a whole world to explore and what a waste if you just dance in a cantina.

Not to disuade you from joining us again, just some info.

As was correctly stated, vehicles make harving much easier. There are a few vehicle bugs however so make sure you can make or at least set up camp kits if you harvest far from cities. Vehicles seem to like to disappear at about 3k meters of riding so you may need to camp to generate it again.

Also not a bad idea to keep a mount just in case you get some decay on the bike/speeder, and find yourself on a planet without a garage.

HEY thanks for the HEADS Up!!! Well I did have a Dewback in my Datapad but I would have to climb up the Ch tree to make it a mount lol!!! Might give me something to do. I just hope I have enouph apprantice points to get my master medic back.

Well one of the things that drove me crazy was running to the edge of the map for a themepark or something. Those where killers especially if there were no animals to hunt sometimes you would find a dead space nothing around (so I would have to fire of some fireworks but I bet no one ever saw them lol)

Anyone know the going rate for vehicles? What about supply? (because I would be one to drive them into the ground rather than fix them)

Most vehicles run in the range of 30-35k.

As for decay rates, the swoop goes pretty fast but worth it.
the landspeeder last FOREVER.
the speeder is just an average.
