Question on Prima GuideFollow

#1 Jan 09 2004 at 9:39 PM Rating: Good
I'm a little confused on the faction listing in the guide. I understand if I look up Nashier it (table 2) will show me that it will affect my faction rating with gypsies of tunaria (oasis).

But lets assume I didn't know that. Let's say I just knew I needed to raise my faction with the gypsies of tunaria, how would I use this to find out what I need to kill (nashiers, among others).

I don't think it does unless I'm missing something. If this is the case, I think the stuff they listed is a total waste compared to what they should have listed. Think about it, when it comes to faction what is the question you hear shouted or have yourself most often. "What do I have to kill to raise my faction with _____?"

Thanx for any help.

I cant answer this question but I did want to leave my 2 cents on the Prima guide.

At first glance of this "ginormous" (my new word for big as hell) you would think it is full of valuable information. Well it is an excellent book if you are a beginner, if you want to know what items are called, if you need help with your beginner quests and the 20, 30 and 40 ones, if u want a break down of CM, and if you want nice info on tradeskills.

However, this book in my opinion is not complete. 1) it does not give any info on sidequests. 2) it lists hella items but doesnt tell exactly where they drop..it categorizes them by the landscape the drop in: desert loot, arctic loot, plains loot, etc. 3) no zone maps 4) the epic quests walkthroughs are terible, especially the 49 epic.

But on a good note, this guide is very helpful with class mastery info, tradeskill breakdown, and listing all the abilities for each class.

Personally I regret I bought it for $17.00 because I can find all this info and much, much more on the internet.

But this is just my opinion =)

I bought my copy for 12.99 discounted through ebx. I do have to say there are a ton of type'os, mistakes and such. Still glad i got it tho its a decent paper reference.Name any other guildes that are better, thats all.

I agree with you in a sense, but then again ... it's not a walkthrough. Some things you are meant to find yourself.

i also agree with the comment about the item listing, that was just stupid, it should be an alphabetical listing with location listed
