WHAT'S THE MOST FUN SERVER TO PLAY ON?Follow

#1 Jan 09 2004 at 5:16 AM Rating: Default
For those of you who have multiple characters on different servers...share your opinions on each server here. Be sure to add a brief description ( praise and/or complaints) and a score for each server you play on, 1 being the absolute worst possible and 10 for a server you'd recommend anyone to join.

Ahazi- nice large sized population creates a nice bustling city-like experience; a bit disorderly as far as vendors are concerned...weapons and armor seem to be a bit lacking in the quality dept. ppl are somewhat helpful and friendly- server stability could be improved.
overall score: 7

Radiant- avg. but comfortable sized population, vendors are nicely organized (nice malls, great quality items are easy to find) ppl are nice and helpful with the exception of a few; server stability is decent
overall score: 8.5

I play on Tarquinas mostly, we have a damn good city system and kick *** vendors. The quality of items are some of the best i've seen. I also have a Char on Ahazi but I don't do much with him.

Tarquinas: 9.0
Ahazi:5.0

BTW I Still have a holo on Ahazi I want to get rid of...for a price.

Chilistra: Lots of helpful people, GCW is in full swing, big unbalanced Factionally on Talus and I'm sure on other planets as well. Item quality is decent. I give it a 7.5.

Scylla: Nice population, not much griefing outside of Bestine and Anchorhead, and I make some damn good weapons on it :P. Not the best yet, but hey...vendor locations are good, and the general items are okay, even if I didn't make them, errr...
8.

Valcyn: My only Rebel player so far, hoardes of helpful people on this server. Item quality is really nice, and while they don't quite have malls, you can still find groups of vendors with quality goods.
I give it an 8 also :)

My main character Desire is on Wanderhome - that is a whacked out server - lag - economy is nerfed - most of the people are in / around coronet. Theed 2nd most populated area. Go to Mos Entha - its a ghost town.

My secondary character is on Shadowfire - Desire' - server seems a bit less laggy - but where are the people? Though on this server I am in one of the best laid out cities Mos Muertes.

Corbantis is Sweet, everything you need is there, every planet has a few helpful people, finding things isn't difficult at all. This server is a Newbies best friend...hardly any lag etc., and items are so easy to find, including some composite armor on the Bazaar which I've seen a few times.

Bloodfin was once thriving, it was supposed to be the PvP serving starting out, held lots of promise & potential..now everybody in the Galaxy has found themselves centralized in ONE location just outside the Starport in Coronet, Corellia serving as a Lag Focal Choke Point! If you want items you either go to the Swap Meet/Flea Market on the front steps of Corellia's Starport or you can search the planets over for someone selling something, finding even basic items on the Bazaar is unrealistic, makes it very difficult for even a starting newbie to survive or stay interested. Did I mention the Lag!? :)

There is my dos centavos!

the best server to have fun on is any of the european servers, because there are french people to save from themselves.

It aint Valcyn for sure unless you love soloing, or dealing with your typical MMOG powergaming smacktalking asshat. I tried europe and thought maybe euroes were more casual but no there all the same I think. Just your basic MMOG BS.

The original Servers are apparently "seperated" like this;

Ahazi - US West Coast
Bloodfin - US East Coast - unofficial PVP server
Bria - US West Coast
Chilastra - US East Coast
Corbantis - US West Coast
Eclipse - US East Coast – unofficial UK player server
Flurry - US West Coast
Gorath - US East Coast – unofficial German player server
Intrepid - US West Coast
Kauri - US East Coast – unofficial French player server
Kettemoor - US West Coast
Lowca - US East Coast
Naritus - US West Coast
Radiant - US East Coast
Scylla - US West Coast
Starsider - US East Coast – unofficial RPG server
Sunrunner - US West Coast - unofficial RPG server
Tarquinas - US East Coast
Valcyn - US West Coast - unofficial PVP server
Wanderhome - US East Coast

This might explain why Valcyn was full of the Hardcore smack talkers.

Then they added, Chimaera, Farstar and Infinity which are all european servers.

I mainly play on Chimaera but I can say that all servers will have their morons. All servers will have their Hardcore Power Gamers and (I hope) all servers will have a decent crowd of players and Roleplayers.

I can't say Chimaera is the best server as my experiences on others are limited but it does have a decent crowd. It's not full of roleplayers (unfortunately) but it does have a nice share of them and most of the "gamers" are decent people.
I find the worst people are the ones that are new to the game, these are generally the "gimme some armour, i r n00b" crowd. Whether they remain like this or sort themselves out I am not sure. Hopefully it is the latter.

The other thing I have found is that the Imperials are generally the better Roleplayers and Nicer people. The Rebels seem to attact the "Quake" style l33t talking PvP'rs. Shame because I really wanted to be a Rebel Smiley: disappointed

Ah dam maybe I belong on starsider.

PLease remember that EVERY newb is not a n00b. Theres some of us who actually dont want to be handed anything (I said dont want not didnt take) Theres some newbs who actually like to struggle and try to work there way up like everyone elese had to do before there were kingpins just handing out x-34's and houses like nothing. I didnt come to the game to beg from people and be "powerful." I came to the game to raise a lizard space cowboy. Raise is the key word. I keep running into masters that are like, "if you manage to befriend me you will be powerful." I'm not even interested in that..

Its to the point now where as a newb I gave up on the n00bs also. They dont want to XP with those of their lev the way intended. They want to find a sugar daddy that will take them under their wing and give them the power they seek. As soon as they see I'm not going to be there daddy and cannot give them 1000s of cred at a time, they pull out the x-34 and ditch me always with the same comment "I have to go meet a friend". I even put my vehicle away so they wouldnt feel bad without one towards the mission and it turns out they've had one all along and made me run.

They've all been given one cause the first thing they do when starting game is sit and beg long enough some IDIOT hooks them up. And who's fault is that? I wish the vets wouldnt be such bleeding hearts. Make them run!!! Make them struggle. Come on guys why do you give them houses and vehicles or anything for the matter when you had to work for yours. Make them do missions and earn the 15k or w/e and force them to group with other newbs. Stop giving vehicles and homes for free vets. Your not helping them enjoy the game in the long run they just become another spoiled battle.netard

Sorry I don't see anyone as "newb" or "n00b" until they describe themselves as so.
"Can you give me some credits plz. I'm a newb"
"Sorry I am not familiar with that race, you look like a zabrak to me"
What often follows this is a barrage of people telling me what newb means, like I didn't actually know.
It seems to be a word either used to be some kind of insult
"omg n00b" or as a charity case that needs help
"can anyone spare anything for a newb?"

I don't remember any player ever asking me for legitimate help
"where do I go for missions"
"how do I earn money"
"where can I buy equipment"
calling themselves a newb, only those that want a freebie.

So, every newb may as well be a n00b but most new players are not. If that makes sense?
Or put another way, Jerok. You maybe fresh off the imperial transport but you are anything but a newb.

I play on Corbantis, my boyfriend plays on Intrepid.

I've mostly met nice people when playing, a couple in particular helped to give me a really good start which I didn't expect at all.

The points people have been making about annoying newbies are justified, but not everyone is like that.
I suppose some people just don't find the game interesting enough to "work" at it but can't quit because they feel as if they've lost that way.
I don't think Galaxies is the sort of game you win or lose because there are so many different options within it.

I started playing without any interest in holo's really, I just wanted to find out what the game was all about and have fun with it.
However, I was unexpectedly given a holo by another player (I didn't ask for anything) and was lucky as I'm doing entertainer and it said master image designer. I haven't got very far with image designer yet as there are other things I find more fun.

Lastly, my impression has been that Rebels are nicer than Imperials. Then again my boyfriend has decided to side with the Rebels so I may be slightly biased.

I play on Valcyne, and I got info and help. I solo, but when I needed help, people helped me. I base on Naboo, got a house handed to me to join a town, I don't have a problem with that, cause the guy that gave it to me will always have me at his back in a fight. A few of the masters have taken me out with them to teach me haow to do things that wasn't covered in the manual, this is their game time they are giving up to help a newbie understand what's going on, and in this game there is alot going on. I love these guys, in a matter of speaking. In my first group hunt, they watched out for me, I was sorly lacking experince, and I had a ball. I didn't get cloned and should have, had it not been for the "RUN" girl, run!! warning, and them killing my attacker, I would not of had nothing but cloning time. Rancors are tough for a level 2222 Marksman/Medic 2323. It is a good place to go. Come to the cantina, ask for me, I'll help anyone and take them out and show them what I've been shown and learned. All are Welcome. Lieka deBlaz

Yea I was ranting bad that day. My apologeeze.

More and more I'm accepting that by coincidences I'm stuck soloing. I finally get in a duo with someone. I'm like cool. I typically kill alot of things one shot to the head that are white to me. All the sudden I'm missing like 3 or for headshots in a row, with like +12 accuracy.. Then my character glitches out and as soon as he comes in range of 64m he just starts going cyclic.. I looked like a f*&in major trigger happy n00b. The second time it glitched, I was trying to test to see if I messed up. The second glitch was a fatal one. I was like wtf this is never happened solo. I apologized from the clone center and left group. I wasnt sure the first time if it was a glitch but by the second I was sure it wasnt my fault cause I was approaching mob with caution testing for it.

yesterday my friend pulled my teeth until I stopped grinding spices to play GTA VC. I even roleplay that lol. Not doing the missions but roleplaying w/e was going on. But its all for humor its not at all serious. But on valcyn that seems highly frowned on. Just usually someone says "hmmmm" or OOOO-k. No one seems to have much sense of humor or personality whatsoever. idk maybe its the grind or just my luck.

The thing is, I'm not exactly looking for help. I'm looking for camaraderie. Free stuff, I mean yea I did appreciate what was given to me. It helped me learn even more. But it sux to just have someone come up and give you a rifle, a pet, a vehicle, a house, put there PA tag on your head, and then there like, ok noob, g2g hunt with *MY* group... now HF and GL. And then they ride off and your just standing there thinking,. wtf just happened??
