Can you us two Clients on the same computer?Follow

#1 Jan 08 2004 at 10:08 AM Rating: Decent
I was wondering if you can use two clients on the same computer? If anyone knows how or can provide me with a link that would be awesome. I'm trying to run my account and a friends from the same computer to trade stuff with him because we get on, on different times.
And I'm asking about the first issue, I know there is many ways to trade with someone who is not around.
Thanks in advance.

.... okay, can you tell me how?
I mean, knowing you can do it is a good thing I guess, but my post was to learn how to do it myself...
So, if anyone has anyway to be helpful please help me out.

Oh no, I meant have them running on the same time, I know you can type in 2 accounts from the same computer you can run 4532 accounts from the same computer.
My question was can you run 2 clients on the same time, meaning that both chars are on the same server at the same time form the same computer.

You used to be able to do it by using this method:

1 - Open up user.cfg from your SWG folder using notepad
2 - Add the following text under the [SwgClient] section

allowMultipleInstances=true
3 -Save the file

Will not work with limited RAM or weaker video cards

You might be able to test it with the buddy system program they have out now to attract new customers.

-------------------------------------------------
The user.cfg file is one you have to create. It was in a post a while back for skipping the intro.

Just go to your installation-directory (e.g. c:\program files\starwarsgalaxies) and create the file 'user.cfg' with an editor (e.g. notepad, wordpad, ..)

then put in whatever you want.

I think in this case it is:
create:[/i]
[SwgClient]
allowMultipleInstances=true [/i]

Spell it correctly or it won't work.

Also to skip the intro sequence enter this in the same file:
[ClientGame]
skipIntro=true [

Hey thanks sydus for the help buddy. I'm running a P4 3.2 800fsb with 4gig of PC3200 with a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256, so I think it better be able to handle it since the game only uses around 500 megs of ram leaving me normally with around 2.7 gigs free.
I heard of people doing it with a use of another folder or something and thats what I was wondering about...
