Hehe..if u go into a grp with a bad disposition you will get the same back at ye! Sometime, a non-tank will pull, sometimes, a healer will not see to heal... Itz not a perfect world, and/or game and ppl!

how baout , as a hlr, i receive only 1 hit in ur grp and i stop hling? its just stupid...plus some1 ppl pull by accident.i agree with ppl booted u!think about that

What are you a fraidy paper tank? What's wrong with you? Yes, I agree with the ppl that booted you, I would too. What, do you pull badly? Are your Misuscule Hp'S depeleted after the crit? If you pull badly, LET someone else pull, it IS your duty AS a tank to PEEL, not the healer's, not the DD's, YOURS. And why the hell wouldn't the healer heal if you're doing things right? If your healers have refused to heal, then you have done something to aggrevate them that far, simple as that.

Yeah, I've had a hlr who wouldn't heal til I taunted, which was no prob. But, with that policy, your reputation will dissipate. Nobody will want to group with you, because you need to give a lil leniency, a bit of room for error. One day that plan will backfire.

I just wanted to state something here....this thread reminded me of a grp i was in(the names have been changed to protect the stupid). Ok the tank we had refused to take the first hit in every fight ....said he cant take a critical hit. Not really a big problem until i noticed it was me taking the hit. As of right now I am a 41 shammy. I have descent hp and ac...probably more then i should.....So anyway i just played with him some....brought out the heals that would just keep him barely alive. He was not as amused as I was. Now I havent actually played a tank so I cant judge any tank....but to me isnt that half of the tanks job is keeping others from getting killed....also the same job of shammy i know......You are called a tank for a reason....just my thought...

I would like to also add that i cant heal the tank if i have to keep healing myself...if I die we all die

The tank should keep the aggro, take the first hit, etc. I can understand a healer wanting the tank to taunt first...keeps aggro off the healer. I myself tend to heal some whenever ANYONE in my group is taking damage. But the problem I see with more than one person taking the damage is that when the healer heals more than two in the group INCLUDING him or herself, that pulls the aggro on the healer that most tanks CANNOT peel. Granted there are always some accidental pulls but that is the job of the tank to peel. IT IS TO THE BENEFIT OF THE GROUP that the healer concentrate on one person to heal. Healer dies in that situation, chances are everyone will.

My job as a healer is to heal and i have been told this alot, mostly because i tend to do to much, but when i'm told what to do i will leave the grp shortly (it just doesn't feel much like a game after that). we do have jobs and you do them to the best of your abilities and to the style of your charactor you are what you have made yourself into. Well i guess what i might be saying is in a grp you have a job(responsibility) and we need to do that with some ethics and charactor and what about the two others in your grp do you ignore them and tell them tough crap " I Have my own priority " there are 4 people in most grp's i Only here you speaking of two and never included any others i think you might be a little selfish here not really sure tho. Ok i said enough thx

Healers shouldnt heal till the tank taunts. It is one thing for a named spawn to want to go in with a heal already clicking, but for a regular grind mob the tank should have a taunt on the mob before any other in the group attacks or does anything to draw aggro. That initial hit and taunt helps control the mob, making aggro maintenance easier.

As far as someone pulling aggro, it is the tanks job to regain the aggro, that is why tanks are in the group. Now if another group member decides to intentionally go and pull a mob, without the groups consent, then they should tank it, but as the tank they get the stacks.

To the original poster: Home slice, change your attitude quick, or you will never find a group!

First of all you say "u heal i tunat u dont heal i dont taunt". Well that doesn't make sense because you have to start the battle with taunt, then when you health is getting lower the healer should heal, and it's very important to have your taunt established before the healer heals as that grabs aggro. Basically the mob says, if I take out the healer, I win. And it's a lot harder to get aggro back than it is to keep it. If your trying to say it pizzes you off when a healer lets you get lower than what your comfortable with before throwing the heal I understand this. Try asking nicely, "Please don't let me get that low before throwing your heal, I get a little nervous." I've had maybe one guy get snotty with "Don't tell me how to do my job", but generally they just say "kk".

Second you say "u pull i dont peel". I know where your coming from on this, it is annoying when someone else pulls a mob for you, trying to speed you up or whatever. To non-tanks out there, sometimes whe pull slow for a reason, trying to get the feel for how much the group can handle, potential add-on you might not see, or we just suck, LOL. In this case just say, again nicely, "dude I'm the tank, please let me do the pulling".

Bottom line, dude you let someone die for any of the above reasons, with no taunt, the words going to get around, and you will never find a group.

The line about "the names have been changed to protect the stupid", I've heard it before, but I laugh every time I hear it. The part about not wanting to take the first hit, you've got to be kidding me, boot that sob, asap and come find me, that's the tanks dam job, LOL.

I have a few more comments but it seems like they have been covered by at least one or more people in this thread.

GL all!

I dont know if the original posters intent was "you do your job, I'll do mine"...but I can say that I can see both sides (and thank god I am caster..lol)

As a tank you should be taunting enough to keep the healer alive and the ability to taunt more when needed. Unless you agree in the beginning (after feeling out a couple of mobs) that you want someone to pull so you can speed up the xp, then I agree someone else pulling is annoying and dangerous. I have a shammy friend I love dearly and as a caster even, I have to remind him he isnt a shammytank like he thinks he is...lol

But if the tank refuses to taunt til he gets a heal...then I agree you arent doing your job...cause the healer has to spend his time making sure he is healed first when that mob comes straight for him in order to keep you and the rest of the group alive...

But if you are trying to tell people to back off on how to tell you to do your job, then I agree...it gets frustrating when others seem to know so much about how you should play your character...while I agree there are instances to remind your tank politely to use the taunt more than once...its frustrating to hear someone constantly say "taunt taunt taunt" or whatever it is for whatever character you are playing...for me I hear Mana...

with no mana visible bars I am pretty much guessing or doing my best to accomodate everyone...and I also love to hear the call for clairty when I am already in the process of buffing my 5 people...yes five..I have a pet...just relax a little...I could understand if I hadnt been paying attention, but the eager beavers out there suck when they are constantly dictating how you should play your own character...you worry about yours and I will worry about mine..thanks..lol

Now my Bf is one that wont put up with the constant telling of how his job should be done..and he will leave...that works for him...personally I am not like that...but I may excuse myself from grouping faster than I intended for the evening or explain politely what I am doing behind the scenes...I do a lot of rebuffing during fighting as well as casting damage...

My advice for the original poster is to have a little patience...see it from their side..it helps if you get a feel for more characters and their roles in the group...you shouldnt have to put up with someone constantly dictating instructions on how you should play..but also listen with open ears...maybe there are things you could learn...I am personally thankful for the forums, for I have definitely read advice from other casters about how to be better for the group...So relax sit back..do your job as you know how to do it...and have fun!!

PS someone once told me this "If you meet more than 3 A**holes in one day..then maybe you should start looking in the mirror" lol meaning if you constantly meet people who are jerks maybe they arent the one who is a jerk..maybe it's you..lol food for thought..sorry just a funny but good quote I remembered and remind myself of when I am pissy.
