I have looked a few diff places, and some show that you need the Artisan tree and some say just marksman and brawler? I wonder if it is possible to be a Master CH and be 0/4/0/0 in Commando, also keeping Nov Medic.

Check out the character builder tab on the left under the Characters column. It is very usefull in playing with different mixes.
