is there a list of how much craftin XP you get for each item? i've looked all over this (wonderful!) site but i can't find a spot that tells you how much XP you get for each item that you can make. thank you.

I am not sure if it lowers per tier you get but http://www.swgcraft.com is probably the best crafting site out there

amount of resource * 2 = XP

So if something took 6 organic and 6 inorganic, that would be 24XP. If you do a practice instead of actually making the item, you get an additional 5 XP for a total of 29 XP. Go figure.

But don't think that the things with the most resources are the best XP grinders. Find something that needs non-specific resources and that doesn't need sub-components. Often subcomponents are from a tree unrelated to your current tree and thus you don't get XP for that and waste time and resources making them so that you can create the big XP item in your tree. Example - PetStim B in Bioengineer. You need BECs and Chem delivery systems which are Medical Crafting XP...does you no good if you are a BE looking to grind XP.

Another example is somthing that instead of requiring any fiberplast, requires Tattoinian Fiberplast or Corellian Fiberplast. Don't make those because the specific resource is expensive and unless you are looking to craft for money doesn't make sense to burn good resources just to grind.

But anyways XP = resources used * 2 (+5 if practice)

wow. this site is great! thank you for the quick responses!

i have another question, please.

i have read at this site a couple times and seen on other sites as well the command /nextCraftingStage

i have tried for a couple hours now to get this command to work and i just can't do it.

i've tried:
/nextCraftingStage
/nextCraftingStage;
/nextcraftingstage
/nextcraftingstage;
/next Craftingstage
/next craftingStage

i've tried all of them in a text file inside the SWG directory, in a macro made inside the game, and in the command line with no results.

any suggestions? my holo said i have to be a master droid engineer, and i can't see getting there any century soon the old fashioned way.

thanks a bunch!

/nextC;
/nextC;
/nextC;

that's all you need. You MUST have the semicolon and you only need 3 of them. 2 won't do it and 4 will end the crafting process.

Although (back to original post) I do not know the correct formula, I do know that the formula posted above does not hold true in all instances.
For example; a biological effects controller requires 6 organic and 6 inorganic to make. If you practice instead of creating item, you recieve 36 points of xp.
So (6+6=12) x 2 = 24 does not work even with 5 point crafting bonus (total 29). A multiplier of 3 would work, but doesn't allow for the bonus. So how that works, I couldn't say but at least with that item (and trust me I have crafted huge amounts of them) the formula does not work.

I am also in the dark about the correct equation but I can tell you this: if you're looking for something to grind for xp, find the item that calls for the highest quantity of a single ingredient. Not a combined total but for one slot. As a tailor, I used link-steel reinforced gloves to grind. They have four slots, three of which are for "inert petrochemical" but one slot requires 30 and the other two are for 10 each. The remaining slot is for 20 metal. At Field Wear II this item has the highest requirement for a single slot and gave me the most xp per attempt. Here's where the equation gets whacky...the gloves require a total of 70 units of resources and the complexity is 15 (I think this is figured in to the equation also). The xp gained per attempt is 165 if I create them and 173 if I practice (the practice bonus is 5% of the regular xp added on top, that much I know).
Hope this helps :)

yeah I don't think that formula is correct I just obtained master architect and i ground gungan head statues(which required 3000 resources 2k ore 1k gems)and I only got 5000 xp for it that's with a practice

as far as the architect grind for those up and commers grind gungan heads when you can people say wall mods but I think that takes a lot of time sure you get a lot of xp for wall mods but that's because your building 10 structural mods first I ground cabinets or chests...one category: metal.

The BEST grind for Architect is Crafting stations once you can make them. Don't worry about the sub-combines, you can make them without the sub components (they are optional). Use practice mode.

All you need is metal and LOTS of it. You will go through probably 800k+ of metal to grind to master, but you get BUTTLOADS of xp for crafting stations (because they use so many resources). I made master Architect in about 3 days of playing part time grinding crafting stations.

This is not a poor man's approach though. You will need buttloads of metal and that is expensive if you don't mine it (and even if you do). My suggestion would be get harvesters going as soon as possible and use all mineral harvesters (as high an extraction rate as you can find) and look for steel. Usually steel seems to come in the highest concentrations that I have found (but any metal will do, if you find a 98% copper, jump on it!). Mine your heart out. You may even have to do something that seems counterproductive and sell some of your resources (you will need money for power and to keep the harvesters running). As soon as I was able I got a Fusion-Ion generator and started getting my own power (that helps save a LOT of money). If you can find a good radioactive deposit of stuff with a high PE you can run the other 9 harvesters off that one fusion generator.

You can do all this while working on your artisan stuff. Also find a good route for artisan missions (personally I used Moenia-Deeja Peak, they were 1300+ each and you could get two each way for netting about 5k per trip once you take out travel costs). Once you have about 500k of metal stockpiled and some good amount of money, start flushing it down the drain making crafting stations and watch your xp FLY. The money comes in handy too if you don't want to wait to find a trainer. I camped in front of the architect trainer in Theed and ground, trained, ground, trained. Took me longer to get the AP points for master than it did to get from novice to 4/4/4/4!

Last point of advice on AP points. Pick up some pistol and ranged combat skills and some scouting (you want exploration 2 anyway for mask scent when you go checking your harvesters). You will have a much easier time finding people to train in that than in artisan/architect skills.

Hope this helps.

i found that the 2 * the amount of total resources seems to be accurate for me, but i think i'm only getting 1 extra point for expirementing? i don't know, don't trust my data, i barely know what i'm doing.

which leads me back to the /nextC /nextCraftingstage /nextcraftingstage thing. i still can't get that to work in a text file macro, an in-game macro, or at the command prompt. i must be broken or someone is slipping stupid bean extract into my hot cocoa.

will try again tomorrow just to double check myself.

I found that some times you get more than 2* the amount so on many of the items schematics on OUR site you will see how much xp you get by crafing the item, by practicing the item, and how long it takes to craft it. Click here for example

Also if any of you have the time to document this info on items where we do not have it, I would appreciate an email.
