Low level Goldmaking Guide 100g+ a day under lvl 20Follow

I'm sure this has been done before but here’s my spin on a classic.

I recently returned to wow this month. I have multi 60's on other servers but decided to change to Hellscream and Illidan as my other servers are not in my time zone thus giving me high latency but enough of that. I asked nicely in general chat what’s an easy way to make gold and was greeted by the usual "go kill stuff and sell it noob". Let me tell you that you will not make you any gold doing that, it won’t even pay for repairs so here is my lowbie gold making guide.

You can do this with or without auctioneer addon but I recommend it highly.

Ok so start off by making yourself a character devoted to farming gold. I recommend a hunter or druid or rogue in that order depending on preference but this will work with any class.

Level to 5 and get these two professions:

Mining and Enchanting.

Why? These are the two best ways to make gold at a low level and remain some of the best ways even at a high level. Grab a mining pick and set off. As low as level 5 you can start mining and farming, no sooner as you can’t learn these skills till then.

Ok so I can’t give advice for all servers but on the 4 I personally play on I can say this for a fact: copper bars sell a lot better and for lots more then copper ore. So smelt those ores into bars. Smelting doesn't cost you a single copper and it can almost double what you get. For instance according to auctioneer I can sell a stack of copper ore for 2.78g or a stack of bars for 5.72g. That’s over 100% more gold and smelting doesn't cost me a thing except a few moments of my time.

Also when you get to tin smelt it down and combine with copper to make bronze. Here’s why:

Copper bar stack 5.72g, tin 1.50g. Combining 1 stack of each makes 2 bronze stacks, 7.50g each thus you turned 7.22g into 15g by not selling separately.

Also enchanting if for DE.

A lot of those low level greens will never sell in the AH thus costing you AH fees and losing you money but people are always buying enchanting reagents that green you can sell to NPC vendors for 2 silver you can disenchant it and make 40s-1g off the mats, you also have those quest rewards you can’t use, DE them for extra money and enchanting really pays off in the 20s+ then you'll start making a gold or more.

Anyway doing this I have a 19 hunter I'm twinking, he currently has 200g on him using this method and that’s after buying some blues to twink myself I also have a 2nd hunter I'm not twinking at level 9 and he has made himself enough to buy 3 Netherweave bags and still has 72 g on him.

Most people won’t tell you this and will simply reply "go farm noob" but it’s about time someone stepped up and helped the noobie community I hope this helps many! 100+g a day is possible if you’re willing to invest the time. For instance at level 7 or so horde side I work my way up to orgimmar and south of it along the mountains there are many copper ore deposits. In 20 minutes I can make a full stack that’s 5g! In an hour 5 stacks, that’s 25g! 4 hours 20 stacks that’s 100g

Depending on whether or not you have competition as well as respawn rates of the veins you can hit 100g in 4 hours or sometimes 5-6 hours but either way it all comes down to how much time you're personally willing to invest into farming.

Thank you for explaining something everyone already knows, two gathering professions=proft.

I know you went into more detail about prices but those mean nothing for people on other servers.

Also why do you use enchanting for DEing low level greens, you will make much more money by skinning low level mobs and selling the furs.

First: Thy spelling hurts mine eyes :-(

Second: Duh? Look into the Tradeskills Forum (see? We have a forum for specific stuff like this!). EVERYONE there will say "If you want to make money, take double gathering skills." Which are, of course, mining, herbalism, skinning, and enchanting.

Third: We have a guide from one of our very established posters, Ohmikeghod, all about using enchantrix and disenchanting for profit. He explains how to do it in much better detail.

Fourth: The prices will vary per server. For example, on my server copper ore sells for 3.5g, bars sell for 4g, tin bars sells for 2.5g, and tin ore sells for 6g. Bronze sells for like 3g. So you might break even. In all likelihood, yes, you'll make a profit, but it vary wildly depending on the server. 100g + a day from it? Not positive if it'll happen.

Here it is common knowledge. Here your preaching to the choir. Yes, in-game people don't know, those are probably the same people who refuse to do any research at all online. People that say, "It's a game, I should just be able to play it, not have to research on it." So yeah, posting here isn't gonna help those people in game.

Also, if your gonna post a guide of any sort, please please please please please please please please please please please please use spell check.

I don't know if I agree here. DEing low level greens can make a ton of cash, and much faster than skinning. Stacks of Strange Dust fly off the AH (at high prices) from lvl 70 people powerleveling Enchanting.

yup thats exactly right leathers have a tendancy of selling slow or not at all especialy low level ones in my experiances which is why i chose DEing

and remember this is just personal experiance.. ive been playing since day 1 and tried every race/job/proffesion combo imaginable and this is what i find works best for me and should work best for many others

but just cause its my personal prefrence doesnt mean its set in stone

if you wanna go Lw by all means do it. if thats what works best for you there is no right or wrong way to make gold.. with the exception of begging for it lol

The guide you wrote is helpful to new players, but this idea has been thrown around many times and most people already know it. I prefer to just have skinning and either mining or herbalism on all my alts, to supply my main characters with mats. Having more then one enchanter seemed like overkill.

*edit* Thanks for the rate-down

Seriously, if you go back and edit a little more and you might have yourself a nice and helpful guide for newbies.

Much better. Now all you need are some commas and periods. But kudos on taking advice to heart. :)

Apparently there were some pretty serious edits, but that is such a uniquely bad post that it almost needs to be stickied. Speaking of which, didn't I once see a "hall of shame" thread that linked to the worst post Allakhazam has ever hosted? Maybe it was just FFXI specific, I can't remember.

I did my part by trying to spare them from the agony of reading this thing through rating it down.

It always boggles me why people say "lolz I was just tryin 2 halp" and can't even bother running their edit through a spell check. You even said you're sure this has been done before. Why would you set out to introduce a worse version?

No, this isn't English class.

This is what English class is supposed to prepare you for: communicating with grown-ups in the grown-up world.

People judge you by how you express yourself. Since the people on this forum know nothing about the way you look, dress, speak, or behave, your use of grammar, punctuation and capitalization become extremely significant to them. If you want people to take you seriously, put serious effort into your writing.

I personally can't ever sell Strange Dust in the AH. I mean I will list it for half what everybody else is asking and still never sell it. At least there is no deposit for trying to sell it. In fact as of late I have actually been making a good chunk of money selling lvl 5-7 tailored items on horde side. I have been getting over a gold for linen robes which cost about 5 to 10 silver max assuming I buy mats from AH. There just hasn't been hardly any lvl 10 or lower gear in the AH lately. In fact sometimes I throw a low level enchant on them and get 1gold50s out of them.

The thing I lose more money on then anything is trying to sell higher level armor (such as say 30+) on the AH. Once again I list it alot cheaper then everybody else and 9 times out of 10 end up losing my 25silver or better deposit. So anymore unless its level X9 (19, 29, 39) and has alot of STA I just DE it. About the only gear that does sell is stuff a twink/semi-twink might buy for BG's.

The thing about Skinning, at least on my server, is Light Leather and Leather Scraps don't sell for that much in the AH. Really thats all your going to see with skinning at low levels. Now if you plan to level your toon then by all means you can make some money with this. Once you get into Medium leather and higher you start to make a little bit of money.

I don't see why so many people are bashing him for posting this guide. Seems to me he went through alot of trouble to try and help people. If you don't like the guide simply hit your back button and move on. The time people spend bashing other posters could have been used to post something meaningful.

The main reason your getting flamed isn't the grammar/punctuation. The main reason is this:
http://wow.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=69;mid=117088981455461343;num=50;page=1

and if you read that, there's a section in there:
Quote:
Q. How can I make money in WoW? (Torux)

A. The best way is to take two gathering professions (mining, skinning and/or herbalism) and sell the items you get in the auction house to crafters. Some people learn enchanting, then disenchant items they no longer want (as well as soulbound items from quests), and sell the dust, essence and shards to enchanters. Shards sell for alot more than dusts and essences.

A1. This holds true for the first forty levels or so, usually up until you get your mount. With a mount, your money-making abilities increase ten-fold. You can move faster, gather more per hour, and increase your profits (and this is just with gathering). However, even later in the game, the easiest way to get money is to get some rare recipes and make items no one else can. Charge a base line and have people bring you materials; it's free for you and good for them!

Another good way to make money is to play the AH; buy low and sell high. I won't go into this daytrading technique; this is stuff for people with a lot of time and good market skills ^_^ Keep in mind a lot of people are upset by morals here: when you overstep the line and buyout everything to resell it at a higher price, it tends to become a pain. If you can do it, hey, it's all good! But odds are that a lot of people will scoff at your price and make you eat the deposit fees. A better idea: look for underpriced items and sell them at the current price. This is easy and effective.

WondrousTremor took some time to put together some great tips for money making. Check them out here:
http://wow.allakhazam.com/journal2.h...um=0;page=1

So in trying to help, you have released a "guide" that has already been done, better.

Criticism is a part of being an adult, both in giving and receiving.

Immature criticism would be more like; "You're a doodoo-head" or "Your mom's exactly the opposite".

Criticism might unsolicited but if you really were being an adult you would handle it. Not everything everyone criticizes about you or your work will always be warranted but someone who's accepting of it will be open minded about it.

The question isn't 'Why is everyone picking on me?' but 'What is everyone picking on me for?'. In other words; what do I need to do to correct the situation or problem?

Yes I will interupt him and correct him. Do you know why? Because if I can't understand what the **** he is saying, there is no point in me listening to him. Same thing here, if your spelling is poor and you grammar is poor making it hard to understand what is being said, there is no point in listening to it.

It's not rude to try and understand someone when they aren't making it easier for you.

Remember this is your point, that you are trying to get across to the world. In order to get them to listen to what you want them to hear, you should do your best to make it as clear and precise as possible. In other words make sure your spelling and grammar are correct.

If you walked into a job interview speaking ebonics and slang would you honestly expect anyone to take you seriously?

Knock it off. Smiley: glare

The OP made an attempt at posting something helpful to the community he likes to come to. Obviously he didn't see the other one and thought he was being helpful. If you don't agree with it fine. But the flaming, trolling and grammar **** action needs to stop. Either provide some helpful remarks regarding his guide, such as pointing him in the right direction or simply move to a different thread. This attacking thing needs to stop.

Locking this post.
