WowReader Issues and HelpFollow

This is the main thread for help and issues reguarding WowReader. The previous thread can still be found here. If you just need general usage instructions, be sure to check the Readme.txt included before asking any questions. If you have any problems, or run into any bugs, post here. If you encounter an error message that mentions error.txt, post it's contents here. If you have trouble patching, post the contents of patch.log and startup.log here.

Current issues:
- Occasional timeouts trying to upload.
. This is a server load-related issue that we're working on. For now, just wait a few minutes and try again.

"Profile not updating"

- Verify the Wr UI add-on is loading within the game. You can type /wver in game to confirm it is running. If it's not loaded, exit out of WoW and go to character select, then click on the "Addons" button and make sure its not disabled. If you've checked this, please mention it in your post so we can save some time.

- Ensure you're having Wowreader upload successfully after you've logged out from the game world on the character you wish to update.

- It can take a couple minutes between a successful upload and your profile reflecting the changes.

- Stats on profile search are updated hourly, not instantly, so if your profile shows the correct stats, but search doesnt, just give it some time.

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application."

- Fix this by installing the newest version of .NET

"After entering my login info, I get an invalid-password error when I try to upload, and if I go back, my pw changed to a long string of ***'s."

- Ensure that you actually entered your correct login and password for this website. If in doubt, or the error persists, try changing your password on the website, then entering the new one. The number of ***'s is not related to the length of your password, so don't start thinking the problem is due to that!

One final note: Off-topic posts in this thread will be deleted. Please don't use this thread for general questions.

After the program loads, and it asks me to select the source directory, it automatically selects C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft - however when I try to open it I get the following error:

Error During SavedVariables search using base '\WTF\Account\': Could not find a part of the path "\WTF\Account".

My SavedVariables.lua is in C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<account name> and it is my only account. I am not logged in at all when this happens.

I'm sure I probably missed something, so let us know.

Not trying to sound like a broken record, but:

Mac version?

I'm sure many fellow Mac users would agree that not giving an update on it's status is more of a letdown then the fact that it's not available yet. Is it still in the works? Is there some reason it's not included in the sticky? Hell, I'd even be happy with a "Shut the hell up, it's cancelled" since we don't seem to be getting an answer any time it's brought up. Well, I guess it wouldn't make me happy, but it would at least verify that it's just not some demented dream all us Mac users had.

I can't find instructions on how to use WoWreader. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I'd also like to know if there is a mac version being planned or even dreamed about. If not, wil htere be a way for mac users to enter their profiles manually if WoWreader is not an option? A manual input page or something so I can search for upgrades for my character automatically by slot or have my profile sent linked from sites like guildportal?

Another voice requesting Mac version update - or the alternative manual character upload option, as mentioned previously.

Thanks!

Mine keeps saying " Login Failed. Please Check Password." and it is the correct password.

Not sure if this is where to comment on this, but for Warlocks, the talent Demonic Embrace is not being reflected in the profile. I have, i think, 297 sta and almost 4k hp in game and my profile is not reflecting that.

Thanks

There are no male gnome Icons. I have a male gnome warrior, and there is no appropriate icon for my profile. Not high priority, just something I noticed, but otherwise I love the program.

I'm playing WoW on a German Realm with the English WOW Client.

The Addon was properly loaded (/wver is displaying version nr), and after logout and upload my charackter profile is visible on Allakazam.

The only problem is that although my profile was completely correct displayed with all items, no items that i loot/recieve from chat and so on are collected. WoW reader is running the whole time but its only displaying "0" in all cells.

When I press Upload (or when it automatically does it), it connects to the server successfully, starts the upload and then right away disconnects saying "The server closed the connection.". It does this everytime.. how can I fix this?

Thanks

Gwarth: Currently, only US clients can upload item and quest data,
due to difficulties in detecting the language. You can still upload profiles as you've noticed, but items will always stay at 0.

tehbot: I'm not sure what was causing your problem exactly, but looking at the logs, it seems like its fixed now?

Thanks to the reply.
Do you know if/when other language Clients will be supported? Do you work on it, or isnt it planned up to now?

Do you have any ideas if i can play on german realms with the us client too?

Sorry, I should've been more clear. Specificly, only clients playing on US realms can upload item and quest data. We've considered the idea of collecting data for multiple languages, but we don't have a good way to do it right now, so we had to limit them to profiles only.

My Wowreader isn't doing what I want it to. Specifically, its updating the wrong character profile, even though I want it to update my main character, who was the last character I logged in with. Instead, it wants to update the profile of my friend's character (different account), who I am looking after for the summer since he cannot play. So, my level 58 mage has not been updated since level 54, and it's getting a little annoying. Is there any for me to switch the profile being updated? I've tried uninstall/reinstall but that was ineffective. Thanks.

The current version has problems dealing with more then 1 account at the same time. The next version (which should be up soon, just needs some more testing first) will be able to upload more then 1 profile at the same time, and can better deal with multiple accounts. For now, your best bet is to just try again in a couple of days.

Every time I try to upload data is says:

Connection Error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

Is this a port issue? If so, what ports need to be open in order to send the data?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you checked to see if /wver command in game shows it as loading? If not, check the instructions in the first post of this thread.

The fury tree for warrior have been messed up since Dual wield was added.

My 5 points in Enrage have somehow been moved to Slam.
