Silver ore is mainly from mining nodes in Black Shroud zone. Starting from grade 2 and up. Grade 3 it gets better. You can also get silver from Coerthas mining nodes. Stay away from La Noscea it mainly Limonite and Iron.
Also check out here http://www.disciplesoftheland.com/Default.aspx for ore locations.

I'm a little late to the discussion, but Horizon and Nophica Wells are good sources for silver as well, both ore and sand.

I dont get much silver there, perhaps from the levequests but there are more items in those nodes, in the open world nodes there isnt much in those places.

Also for reference silver sweet spot is found at +2

I don't agree with this at all. I get much more silver ore/sand from areas in The Black Shroud.

Dunno, I get tons of silver on my mining character in both Horizon and Nophica. And for gold I go to Halatali. The only place I find that I can't get the goldsmithy metals is Vylbrand. That could just be my experience, but that would be really strange.

I mined in Nophica's Wells from R28-R31 and I received about 50x more silver ore in half a level at Humblehearth. I know a few other miners and no one seems to have had much success mining silver ore or sand in Nophica's Wells

Black Shroud with 3 instances of silver ore, and 2 instances of silver sand.
Nophica Wells with 1 instance of silver ore, and 1 instance of silver sand.

Your results will vary largly dependant on which nodes you are concentrating on, especially if some nodes are more accessible then others.
In my experience the 2 nodes in Humblehearth with silver ore/sand are in the main area where people primarily harvest, thus, easy silver ore without having to target specific nodes.

I would assume in reality, there is atleast one node, in every area grade 3+ for mining that will have silver ore on the list, it is really just a matter of how easy it is to incorporate the node into an effective triangle.
