Hight Rate of Damaging Items (Botany)Follow

I leveled Botany from 20-24 somewhat fast over the last few days. Now I damage 2-3 items out of 5 logging attemps. Is this due to fatigue or is this expected the higher the level you are? FYI, I have good botanist gear, stacked on STR/INT, and I am still useing the level 22 Hatchet (Brass?).

Any help appreciated......

This is most likely due to fatigue. I find I can go for about 20k SP per day before I hit fatigue.

Yes, I noticed this too after long mining session (s). Seems to be recently added, and my SP numbers don't turn yellow.

Hmm I'm not the only one it seems... I once mine for about 2+hours straight, Well, basically, after that, almost all my hits ended with a dmg.

For those of you who don't know, there is a second (separate) kind of surplus we've been calling "fatigue". Normal surplus still applies... get too much SP over the course of one week, your numbers turn yellow, and you start getting less SP.

But we get hit with gathering fatigue too, which is an artificial way of the game limiting how many items we can gather per day. Many people talk about how this kicks in after you do around 20k SP in one day. My testing shows this may actually be more closely related to the number of successful gathers. After somewhere around 130 successful gathers, you'll start do damage a good number of your (what would otherwise be successful) attempts. Depending on how much SP you get per success (your rank vs grade level) this can range anywhere from 12k to 20k SP.

Yes, it sucks.

I can barely get an hour or two into harvesting/logging before I start damaging 50-75% of what would normally be successful attempts. Right now I am a Rank 21 Botanist with a full set of rank appropriate gathering gear and I am not in the yellow (bonus sp). At this point I could care less about the drops because I'm just tring to skill up. Unfortunately, when you damage the items you only get a fraction of the sp and it makes ranking up tough - throw on the bonus fatigue and you are screwed twice over. The high % of damaging items also seemed to carry over into leves while you are under this hidden effect. I really hope they remove this "feature".

I've mined for several hours but haven't encountered the problem there yet but it sounds like someone else has in an above post.

At least I know it is not just me.

/em crosses fingers in hopes this gets fixed.

I doubt they would fix it, RMT/bots would drown the markets with their 24/7 gathering. Heck I've seen Fish bot with r1 fishing rod and no clothes + Moth Puppa worked his way up to r50 and sell crystals synthed from his fish.

If it is not fixed, it should be documented or you should get some kind of message about what is going on. At least with the bonus sp you get a message and the sp bar turns yellow. With this, the player is left scratching their head as to why everything mysteriously starts getting damaged.

I can understand wanting to stop RMT and bots. I fully support that, but this is a really poor implementation of it and really hurts the regular players. I even tried switching over to mining for two hours and then back to botanist only to find it was still in effect. I even went to another zone and tried different grade nodes - no help.

Does anyone have more specifics on what triggers this and when it wears off? After the first day that I noticed it, I waited around 24 hours before gathering again. When I did, I was fine for about two hours before it kicked in again.

I did think they were going to address how this works in the post about gathering on the lodestone. and if you get it after 2 hours there is something that triggers it. The weekend I leveled from 36-37 and it did not happen to me

AFAIK, the fatigue should wear off in 5-7 hours depending on your rank (but I haven't tested this extensively so take that number with a little grain of salt.) I believe that the fatigue might be tied to SP gained rather than any specific length of time (but again, I'm not entirely positive. If anyone has tested this that would like to confirm whether or not it's tied to SP?)

I first noticed this with my miner that I was missing all the time all of a sudden. So I thought it sucked shortly after my bar turned yellow for mining and the hits got better! I was even showing my friend how I was missing all the time. Now I found I really want to do a rank 4 for bot so Im at 24 now and dmg 99% of the time now. 50 points per hit... no items. I really want maple suryp for my alch and I been killing shrooms in the meen time, wish I had more room in the bank I would go do something else.... I guess I can do some of the logs I got.. but my fatigue ahhh jeez soon they will start charging you to play longer then 4 hours a day.

Yeah if they are going to give us this hidden fatigue then we need more ways to lvl gathering classes. Sure its nice surplus is gone but this crap is ridiculous. I lvl botany from 23-25 and hit fatigue when i was so close to getting Sweat of Brow. But I think Ill have to use leves x8 to get a boost on my sp.
