Fishing class questsFollow

So I decided to try the class quest tonight since I'm rank 20 and still looking for a better fishing rod.

It wasn't very hard, even with my rank 1 fish rod. I managed to fish up the quest fish each time I moved to the next spot and on my first cast. I did notice them getting progressively harder so that confirms my theory that the fish scale in rank depending in what grade water you fish.

The reward was kinda ok, 20k gil and 2k guild points. I was hoping for a better rod but, meh, aren't we all?

Are there more quests like this to come as we rank up? The quest giver indicated that I should return when I rank up a bit.

You can start this quest at the npc that offers items for guild points in the fish guild in Limsa Lominsa when you reach rank 20 fisher.

It seems that there are three of these quests for each class data mined so far. I imagine they're at 5 level increments like the story quests. There aren't AF weapons in the data, but I imagine these quests will be how to get them. Something more to look forward to.

In addition to the Rank requirement you also need to have done the story missions subsequent to that rank it seems.

Hit fisher 25 this morning and was disappointed to find that not only was there no new quest from the fisher guild available, but I have yet to find a new story quest. The good news is the access to Limsa Lominsa rank 30 fishing leves, and learned way of the plenty, not that I seek out fishing nodes.

Im physical rank 20 and fishing 15 and in Ulah I seem to have access to level 20 fishing quests, but in Limsa I'm still getting the rank 10 quests. Limsa is my home city so not sure why I'm not getting them.

Maybe I have not found the appropriate camp yet, though I didn't thin that was required. Is anyone with a similar rank/class as myself getting Limsa level 20 quests?

Disregard my previous post, I saw the answer in a previous post. That Gard is the only city to offer level 20 leve quests.

Sweet, been getting so sick of running to Grid just for lvl 20 leves, stoked that I can get some 30's in a couple levels. Anyone know if you can get lvl 30 leves in Ul'dah areas for fishing??

I can confirm, I've tried doing the leves in all 3 cities and grid is the only one that will offer level 20 leves to me

Rank 20 leves are in Gridania.
Rank 30 leves are in Limsa.
Rank 40 leves are in Ul'Dah.

I've not a clue how to get to the 2nd fishing spot for this...it's some lower spot where all the high level Clippers are, to the south-east of the entrance to LL. The only tunnel leads to a cave full of Fallen Soldiers.

Blargh, wrong tunnel...the correct entrance is directly south of Camp Bearded Rock

Ah good! I was looking for that spot last night and after getting 1 shotted by a Clipper after only finding grade 9 water I went back to grinding. I figured it had to be a tunnel somewhere. Thanks for the info.

I did the rank 30 fish class quest last night and I must say it was a fun quest to do, I won't spoil anything but the reward is a unique piece of clothing, 30k gil and 3k guild points.

I found it a nice change of the types of quests that you find in so many games, it was kinda a mix of Entertainer quest in Star Wars Galaxies and the usual go here do this type of quest.

In all I wish it lasted a bit longer but it gave me a good laugh.

Did the 36 one today, havent done the story quest yet since the rank 30 one...

Bring either 2 stacks of Hammerhead sharks, Nautilus or Rothlyt Oysters and you can complete it without fishing inbetween on a timer.

Got 36kand 3.6k marks for it and it let me buy Master of Fish, which I did but I never fished up a item before so this still has to be implemented or is this for mining/botany?
