Battleground LeaderFollow

#1 Nov 15 2010 at 7:54 AM Rating: Decent
just curious but does anyone know how the battleground leader is chosen at the beginning of each bg? is it just random, or is there some sort of ranking system that chooses the most experienced played in that group of people?

First person added to the raid is the leader.

Does it matter?

The BG leader can't do anything special, they just have different chat color/title.

At least in WG, the leader can kick from the raid, which Gevlon famously has been making use of in order to do some social engineering (as you say, it has no real consequences). Even that is going away with 4.0.3.

WG forms an actual raid though, where the BGs form a "BG raid", where no one can be kicked, ready checks can't be made, and there's no raid ID associated.

I'm hoping they make use of the "BG raid" for WG with 4.0.3.

We have a guild of trolls, Alliance side, that is notorious for doing this in WG.

The ability to kick from wg raids has been removed in the latest build. ;)

I figured the kick feature had been removed ages ago as I've had alts hitting WG as soon as they could and hadn't had a single one kicked. Then again, my server counts itself busy if Horde even fills a single raid so it could be a simple case of the morons who usually scream "OMFG that toon isn't a 6k GS 80 - kick it!" never getting the leader position.
