The new BG honor is seriously demoralizing in how little you get - just did Strand - we won and I was kicking butt left and right and total XP gain was a whopping 54, 45 of which was the bonus honor for winning a random BG queue.
I know that the rewards are a lot cheaper but still, it just feels like progress is still horrifically slow versus the previous cost/reward ratios - has anyone crunched pre/post costs to rewards to confirm this?

Yeah, it's pretty terrible. Significantly less than you got before the patch, relative to the cost of the items. I'm caught between buying full wrathful gear and a weapon for my paladin, or two thrash blades, for rad as hell fury warrior worgen leveling.
edit: 1 thrash blade, damnit. They're unique equipped. Sucks

It's pretty much the same, just shards and other currencies are honor points now.
You still gain honor at roughly the same rate, versus how much honor pieces cost.
Remember, Wrathful pieces should still cost arena points, ergo they're another ~600 honor over Relentless.

Sigh - found the problem - even more so then previously HKs are the bread and butter while performing objectives gets you squat. Just had a WSG where I was dutifully minding the FR and everyone on both teams was focused entirely on ganking each other mid-field - took a look at the bonus honor gains and saw I was looking at a miserable single digit bonus while the HK farmers were already mid-double digits. So I joined the party and BAM - honor central.
If that's how Blizz wants the BGs then fair enough - I'm officially on strike from accomplishing objectives until that pays as well or better then HK farming - to the middle!

Do WG, if you want honor. You get pretty good honor, even if you lose.
