WG equalizer not mentioned?Follow

Supposedly there was going to be a patch to fix the disparity of WG by putting a cap on the number of players on each side to start and then allowing each side to gradually increase numbers so as to keep the odds effectively even (I figure they'd wait till both sides hit the cap and then increase the cap by 5-10, rinse and repeat). Sadly, I don't see any mention of this in the patch notes. >_<

It's in, it's just an undocumented change.

I did a WG on PTR to make sure. It goes in 5 player increments. No more Tenacity.

This is gonna be fun for a few weeks until the other side gets used to winning via something other then zerging! :-D

Luckily I never had to deal with that on my server. Rarely did the other faction control WG longer than what 4 hours or so. Both sides were pretty much too lazy to try and properly defend so it pretty much just went back and forth so you knew if you didn't have WG at the time that you would when the next battle ended.

Hopefully TB will be more interesting and maybe we can actually play it right and have a bit more fun than WG.

Yeah, actually they must have taken it out or delayed it to 4.0.3, as I was still getting Tenacity in WG today.

The new queue-from-anywhere for WG is really nice, though. Smiley: rolleyes

I don't see why they didn't just do that from the start...I mean it shouldn't have been that hard to implement when changing around all the BG's to a queue from anywhere system.

They could have, easily, done that.

But they intended WG to be about world PvP and not just a BG that you can visit as a territory.

They pretty much intended it to be like Warhammer Online's world PvP keep conquest, but it didn't turn out that way. It was nice that they tried, at least, and WG wasn't bad at all anyway.

Woot - working as intended and then some - Horde has held WG more times post patch on my server then we have in the previous month! The allies don't know what to do with even odds - lacking the 50-1 odds they usually have in their favor, they've been incapable of taking out all three towers while on D and don't even manage to fight their way into the courtyard while on O. I'm sure that eventually a combination of them learning how to play WG again and the bad players saying "***** it, no more free honor, I'm outa here" will result in more even matches but for now I'm enjoying the change of pace.

The difference I think is that vehicles get Tenacity now, in addition to just players.

I'm just hoping that Horde on my server realizes that something has changed. Over the weekend, you had to queue Alliance side at least a half hour in advance just to get in. Hopefully, they'll tune it a little less tight, while still keeping it competetive (the mindless zerg was profitable, but the fun ran out a while back).

Er, you can only queue for WG within 15 mins of the start of the battle.

Guess I should know better than to take people at face value - I know that it will display the full timer, apparently whether it allows you to queue or not. The only times I tried, I was in the 5-7 minute range and I had not been waiting the longest.

I guess I should amend it to "queue at 14:59 or else".

I’ve found that if you get the “wintergrasp full” message, you can drop the queue and re-queue and you will often get in immediately. No idea why this would be.

I've found that I usually get in seconds later.

Play the outnumbered faction, you get instant queues for everything PvP related.

Not quite true. Alliance outnumbers Horde drastically on Draka, yet Horde has queues and Alliance doesn't.

Mainly because the other realms in our battlegroup are Horde-dominant, and there are less Alliance queueing.

I'm averaging 15m queues and I'm on the outnumbered side - can't imagine what the allies are looking at in my battle group then.

If you are the outnumbered faction on the server you'll get instant queues to server-only PvP such as wintergrasp. You will also have a lot of prey and very little competition when hunting for people to kill in world PvP.

To get instant queues for battlegrounds you need to be on the outnumbered faction of your battlegroup.

If you're on the outnumbered faction of your battlegroup and your queues are 15 min something is wrong with your battlegroup.

LOL - just had a funny one this morning - queued WG around 8am and it seems that Horde all either sleep in or hit church on Sunday as there was just 4 of us with T22 (must have been max Allies).

My tankadin was running around with 120k health (normally 44k self buff only and no flask) and I was one-shotting allies with my shield throw - single handedly defended Sunken side, then solo captured Sunken and was finally over run by a dozen of the suckers (would have done a lot more damage but got stun locked).

Things finally calmed down to T13 when our numbers increased to 7 and surprise, Allies won, but still, was fun playing army of one.
