This guy broke every rule of PvP tonight, so I thought I'd make an educational thread aimed at the four rules of PvP.
1) Know your gear. In my example BGtard, he has no idea what he's socketing for. He has a crit Battlemaster trinket, crit gems, crit/stam gems, etc. Know what stats you're looking for.
2) Know your spec. Cookie-cutter PvP specs are cookie-cutter for a reason. Taking the 3 points out of Vile Poisons to put in Ruthlessness isn't smart, since a lot of rogue's unmitigated damage comes from Wound Poison procs. Take points out of Lethality first.
3) Don't continually go after someone after they /spit, /rofl, /clap, /golfclap, etc at you. Especially after they just wiped the floor with you and they only had 50% of their HP when you opened. Case in point, I'm at 50% HP, out of stealth and I get cheap shotted. I trinket, gouge, vanish, premed/ambush, ks, rupture, dismantle and shortly thereafter he's on the floor.
This didn't just happen once either. TWELVE FREAKIN TIMES. In fairness and full disclosure, he killed me once after two spriests and a boomkin got me to 100 HP and I was eating.
4) Just because you have 100,000 lifetime HKs doesn't mean you're god's gift to PvP. It just means you play AV a lot. To go along with this, don't ever think you're the best player in a BG, as eventually you'll run into someone as I did that's much better than you and they'll destroy you (ran into Tosan in S3 in an AB match... yeah). Assumptions about another person's skill is bad.
Just thought I'd share. I was laughing for the last half of the BG (I was at stables and he'd rez and come straight for me) when he was futilely trying to get at least one legit kill on me.
Edit: oh, also. WORST PREMADE EVER (the team playing against us).
