Your First RaceFollow

Hi everybody,
The other day, I was talking to one of my friends about the first race that I chose for a character. Both of ours were Night Elves, but the comment that she made afterward caught me off guard. She called it the noob race, because apparently everybody picks Night Elves as a first race. I was wondering what you guys think about this. Is it true? What was your first race? Why is this phenomena true?

The first race I chose was human. The reason I chose human was because it seemed to be a fairly basic character and wouldn't be too complicated for me to understand. My intuition would lead me to think that humans would be common among noobs. That being said, I have always loved playing as elves in different games because of the element of magic. This may allow it to make more sense that people play as night elves because they are drawn to the magic and images of Legolas taking down a giant elephant (only one kill, but still epic).

A lot of new posters the last couple days. Anyway, I chose human because my friends and I were going Alliance and Night Elves didn't have Mages at the time.

As for Night Elves, even back in the days of vanilla WoW, Night Elf rogues or hunters seemed to be a fairly common new player choice, as were Undead characters. Not sure I've ever considered why.

I'm cynical and suspect they are all just trolls gathering information for some kind of study and trying to be underhanded about it.

But I chose Orc for my first character, because they eat with spoons and forks. We love to eat our pork!
